🇵🇱 Kilka lat temu kupiłem na Allegro większość moich Skrzydlatych Lansjerów – z wyjątkiem jednego modelu, którego nabyłem około 15 lat temu. Po pewnym czasie zabrałem się za czyszczenie tych figurek i skleiłem je od nowa; dotyczyło to również koni, a podstawki także wymagały odrobiny pracy. Jak to często bywa, jestem całkiem dobry w zaczynaniu wielu rzeczy naraz i niespecjalnie dobry w ich kończeniu – i dokładnie tak samo było z tym oddziałem. Dopiero dziś wieczorem otrzymał on swój sztandar. Uwielbiam te rzeźby – to świetne połączenie ruskich bojarów i polskiej husarii.

Trochę historii:
Skrzydlaci Lansjerzy, podobnie jak reszta moich Kislevitów, pochodzą z miasta Wrotizla, położonego w południowo-wschodniej części Kisleva. O samym mieście napiszę więcej w przyszłości, ale jego najbardziej znanymi postaciami byli bojarzy Henryk Pobożny i Władysław Warnau – obaj polegli w walce z hordami Chaosu. Obecny bojar, Mikołaj, również dowodzi swoją rotą w składzie pułku Wrotizli w wojnie przeciwko Chaosowi, zielonoskórym i pozostałym diabelskim pomiotom.
Barwy chorągwi miasta są następujące:

• czerwona – oznaczająca krew mieszkańców przelaną w niekończącej się wojnie z hordami Chaosu,
• niebieska – symbolizująca nadzieję; została dodana do pierwotnych barw, gdy bezbronne miasto zostało ocalone przez imperialnych Rycerzy Zakonu Pantery podczas Wielkiej Wojny z Chaosem,
• żółta – oznaczająca ciężką pracę, a zarazem będąca kolorem Daża, kislevskiego boga słońca i ognia.

Orzeł był obecny na chorągwi od zawsze. Według legendy przodek wspomnianych bojarów – Lechisław – podążał za orłem, a ten wskazał mu miejsce, w którym założono miasto.

🇬🇧 🇬🇧 A few years ago, I bought most of my Winged Lancers on Allegro.pl – with the exception of one model that I had bought around 15 years earlier. After some time, I started cleaning those miniatures and reassembled them from scratch; the horses needed work as well, and the bases also required a fair bit of attention. As usual, I am quite good at starting several projects at once and not particularly good at finishing them – and this unit was no exception. Only this evening did it finally receive its banner. I truly love these sculpts – they are a wonderful blend of Rus boyars and Polish Winged Hussars.

A little background lore:
The Winged Lancers, like the rest of my Kislevites, come from the town of Wrotizla, located in the south-eastern part of the Kingdom of Kislev. I will write more about the town in the future, but its most famous figures were the boyars Heinrich the Pious and Vladislavus Varnaus – both of whom met their end fighting against the hordes of Chaos. The current boyar, Nicholai, also leads his own rota as part of the Wrotizla pulk, fighting against Chaos, Greenskins, and other vile servants of darkness.
The town banner bears the following colours:

• red – representing the blood of its people, shed in the never-ending war against the hordes of Chaos,
• blue – representing hope; it was added to the original colours after the defenceless town was saved by the Knights Panther of the Empire during the Great War against Chaos,
• yellow – symbolising hard work, and also being the colour of Dazh, the Kislevite god of the sun and fire.

The eagle has always been present on the banner. It is said that the forefather of those boyars, Lechislavus, followed an eagle, and that the bird showed him the place where the town would one day be founded.

🇵🇱 Oryginalni husarze byli najlepszą kawalerią świata i walczyli z problemami, które były również naszymi własnymi.

Inspiracją dla obecnej flagi jest moja ukochana Armenia, choć wcześniej nawiązywała ona do barw mojego rodzinnego Wrocławia – żółci i czerwieni. Świat się zmienił, a wraz z nim zmieniły się także moje myśli.

🇬🇧 The original ones – polish winged hussars were the finest cavalry in the world, and they fought against problems that were, in many ways, our own as well.

The inspiration for the current flag is my beloved Armenia, although previously it was based on the colours of my home city of Wrocław – yellow and red. The world has changed, and so have my thoughts.

🇵🇱 W ramach malarskiego wyzwania WROhammer ukończyłem szwadron ungolskich strzelców konnych o wartości 205 punktów (z pełną grupą dowodzenia) do mojej armii Kisleva / Imperium. Była to pierwsza runda wyzwania, która trwa do 6 sierpnia, więc udało mi się zdążyć przed końcem terminu. Kolejna runda potrwa od 6 sierpnia do 6 września. Całe wyzwanie zakończy się 6 grudnia, co oznacza, że przede mną jeszcze cztery rundy.

Tak, wiem, że tak duży oddział lekkiej kawalerii może wydawać się trochę głupi, ale bardzo lubię model sztandarowego z czaszkami barbarzyńców z Pustkowi Chaosu.

Oddział należy do położonego na południu Kisleva miasteczka Wrotizla, którego barwami są żółty i czerwony.


🇬🇧 As part of the WROhammer painting challenge, I finished a squadron of Ungol horse archers worth 205 points (with full command) for my Kislev / Empire armies. This was the first round of the challenge, which ends on 6 August, so I managed to finish it before the deadline. The next round will run from 6 August to 6 September. The whole challenge will end on 6 December, which means there are still four rounds ahead of me.

Yes, I know that such a large unit of light cavalry may seem a bit silly, but I really like the standard bearer model with the skulls of barbarians from the Chaos Wastes.

The unit belongs to the southern Kislev town of Wrotizla, whose colours are yellow and red.
