WFB: Empire and Kislev vs Tomb Kings Sobota, Gru 12 2020

Somewhere in Border Princes ancient tomb was discovered in heavily forested area. Area was heavily influenced by magic. Two groups of adventurers never returned and from third one only one hero returned totally insane. Empire along it Kislev ally gathered troops, as only survivor told horrific story about legion of living death.

We played with Jakub on 1600 points per side in Aga i Ala shop in Wrocław.

  • Almost everything I painted to Empire and Kislev army.
  • Empire and Kislev battle line.
  • Guardians of the tomb.
  • Plowed fields were problematic for good side cavalry.
  • Allied cavalry moved forward.
  • Three of Kislev winged lancers were shot down by undead archers.
  • Winged lancers charged.
  • Imperial great cannon succesfully eliminated three tomb guards and screaming skull catapult.
  • Winged lancers almost completly wiped out archers, then were charged by undead constructs.
  • Scorpion came from under earth and then charged great swords (yes – cossars here were doing as great swords).
  • Less and less lancers.
  • Another attemp to shot down carrions.
  • Last moments of last lancers.
  • Crew of Great Cannons tried to stop carrions.
  • Mortar crew died from cascet of souls.
  • Knight Panthers – next time I will use them better.
  • Last charge and last killed unit of undeads.

Armies:
Empire and Kislev:
– Empire captain with Sword of Might and Icon of Magnus, full plate armour and barded warhorse
– Kislev boyar with Bitting Blade, Enchanted Shield, heavy armour, lance and warhorse.
– Empire lvl 2 wizard using Fire Magic with Dispel Scroll and Wizard’s Staff.
– 9 Knights Panthers with full command group and War Banner.
– 9 Winged Lancers with full command group.
– 10 Kislev Ungol archers with full command group.
– 5 Kislev Ungol archers with champion and musician.
– 10 Handgunners.
– 10 Great Swords.
– Great Cannon and Mortar.

Tomb Kings:
– Tomb Prince and two liches (don’t remember what they had).
– around 25 Tomb Guards.
– two units of 10 skeleton archers.
– 3 Ushabanti.
– 3 Carrions.
– Casket of Souls and Screaming Skull catapult (yes, we knew that it shouldn’t happen as both are Rare choice).

Summary:
– my first game with other WFB army than Bretonnia, around one hundred models for Empire still wait for painting, then I can start with Lizardmen. As I play with only painted models, I need to paint them.
– did some mistakes, probably I should place all heavy cavalry – right flank, not left.
– now I will remember – champion of Kislev Ungol archers have one more attack, he don’t have higher Ballistic Skill.
– Casket of Souls is dangerous for troops with low morale.
– I losed this battle – it was medium victory for Tomb Kings. Generally treasures of the crypt are still save.

Finally I managed to finish some Imperial artillery for Hochland.

 

WFB: Bretonnia vs Tomb Kings Sobota, Gru 5 2020 

6th and 7th and Bretonnia and Games Workshop and Oldhammer and Tomb Kings and Warhammer tancreddebeauville 18:15

Today with Kuba we played small pitched battle on 1000 points per side. Bretonnians wanted to take ancient Khemri relicts, but there were guardians – Tomb Kings raised from they graves to defend they treasure from Bretonnian thiefs.

We played in Aga i Ada in Leclerc – they have more terrains for 40k, so our board was empty, ruined part of Nekkekharan city. So there is another shop new for me, where we can play tabletop games in Wrocław (others are Bolter.pl on Podwale, Planszoweczka.pl in Astra and on Bielany and Feniks on Kołłątaja).

From Bretonnian side:
– 10 peasant archers in skirmish
– 6 Knights of the Realm (full command group)
– 20 men at arms with spears (full command group)
– 5 Grail Knights (full command group)
– paladin, battle standard bearer and damsel of the Lady.

From Tomb Kings side:
– 25 Tomb Guards (full command group)
– 20 archers
– Screaming skull catapult
– scorpion
– if I’m correct – priest and one more hero.

Bretonnians deployed in line.
Defenders of the tomb.
Bretonnian were moving, undeads were stayig and shooting.
Scorpion arrived from underground.
Coming closer.
First charge due luck almost wiped out most of skeleton archers.
Due magic undeads managed to charge KoTR and broked them in combat by one point – one too much for KoTR, but not for army standard bearer.
Peasant infantry saw panic of KoTR unit and also runned for they lives.
Then both units managed to rally – happilly general was near to the men at arms infantry.
Tomb King elite charged brave army standard bearer.
They won combat result by three points, but standard bearer is a Grail Knight, so he was able to hold – I rolled twice for morale and second roll was good, he held out.
KoTR unit passed leadership and was able to charge on the flank.
The game was other, thank you Kuba for good game.

Summary:
– it was interesting game, as I don’t remember when I played against Tomb Kings – I remember games against Vampires.
– Grail Knights killed scorpion plus in some way catapult, as it got misfire when was shooting against them and was destroyed.
– I should charge archers with every knight, so probably I would get in touch with Tomb Guards faster.
– my battle standard bearer (Grail Vow, Sword of Might and Gromril Great Helm) plus KoTR unit – the most succesfull units from this battle.
– Men at arms – this game they were here – never get into combat. Archers did nothing as well.

 

WFB: Empire and Kislev cavalry Wtorek, List 24 2020 

5th and 6th and 7th and Empire and Games Workshop and Kislev and Ludzkość w świecie Warhammera and Oldhammer and Warhammer and WROhammer tancreddebeauville 16:44

Twenty three years ago (1997′) I read article about WFB in PC games magazine Gambler and around this I started collecting Bretonnians, who was my first and for around fifteen years my only army. I was young and played Warcraft and WFB was interesting for me. Now Bretonnia is still my favourite army, but I wanted to have few other armies – so here are small cavalry contingent of Empire and Kislev cavalry:
– unit of Knights Panther of Inner Circle from Middenheim, lead by grandmaster Heinrich the Pious.
– unit of Kislev Winged Lancers from town Wrotizla.
– two units of Kislev Ungol riders, one composed of Gospodars and another bigger one from friendly Ungol tribe – who are employed as mercenaries.

With addition of two more small unit’s of pistoliers this army will be highly mobile. In addition there will be two infantry units: spearmens and halberdiers with detachments plus cannon and mortar. In 4th edition there will be also unit of Empire Dwarfs.

  • Gospodars light cavalry.
  • Wrotizla Kislev Winged Lancers.
  • Famous Empire Knights Panther.
  • Ungols Horse Archers.

 

WFB: Amazon warrior Niedziela, List 1 2020 

6th and 7th and Lizardmen and Warhammer and WROhammer tancreddebeauville 15:17

By accident I started collecting Lizardmen models, the main reason was some models of my brother from Bretonnia-Lizardmen starting box for 5th edition – I doubled the numbers of models, got some cavalry, terradons, stegadon, Slann and decided that instead of Chameleons Skinks I wish to use beautiful women sculpts bought at badsquiddogames.com. And after few years after shopping I painted first one – she will be used as skink hero or priestess. So I have ten more models to be painted and used as Chameleon Skinks.

I used following paints and it took me around hour to finish model:
– base coated with Wraith Bone,
– for flesh used Contrast Guilliman Flesh plus some highlight with Kislev Flesh then,
– green is Contrast Warp Lighting,
– blonde hair is Zamestri desert with shade of Reikland Fleshade, then highlighted with Zamestri desert,
– here tiny costume is Contrast Flesh Tearers Red and then Contrast Iyanden Yellow,
– wooden part of a spear is Contrast Wyldwood, stone part is Administratorum Grey plus shade of Nuln Oil, then highlight with Administratorum Grey,
– for gold items – rings, medalions I used Auric Armour Gold,
– some bones – Ceramite White.
– for base I used texture – Armageddon Dust shaded with Athonian Camoshade.
– Tufts on base are from Army Painter (some grass).

Przez przypadek zacząłem kolekcjonować modele Jaszczuroludzi, głównym powodem było to, że miałem trochę modeli mojego brata z podstawki bretońsko-jaszczuroludzkiej do 5 edycji – podwoiłem ilość modeli, zakupiłem trochę kawalerii, terradony, stegadona, Slanna i zdecydowałem, że zamiast skinków kameleonów użyję te piękne kopiece rzeźby zakupione na badsquiddogames.com. Po kilku latach od zakupu pomalowałem pierwszą dziewczynę – będę jej używałem jako bohatera lub kapłankę z charakterystykami skinka. No to jeszcze 10 dziewczyn które będę używały zasad skinków kameleonów.

Użyłem następujących farb i pomalowanie modelu zajęło mi około godziny:

  • jako podskład Wraith Bone,
  • jako skóra Contrast Guilliman Flesh oraz trochę highlight z Kislev Flesh,
  • zielony to Contrast Warp Lighting,
  • blond włosy jako Zamestri desert z cieniowaniem Reikland Fleshade, później highlighted z Zamestri desert,
  • do stroju użyłem Contrast Flesh Tearers Red i później Contrast Iyanden Yellow,
  • kij od włóczni to Contrast Wyldwood, głownia zaś Administratorum Grey plus cieniowanie Nuln Oil, później highlight z Administratorum Grey,
  • do złotych elementów jak pierścienie, medalion użyłem Auric Armour Gold,
  • trochę kości – Ceramite White,
  • podstawka to Armageddon Dust cieniowany z Athonian Camoshade.
  • kępy trawy na podstawce są z Army Painter (jakiś grass).

 

WFB: When Winged Lancers arrived Czwartek, Paźdź 22 2020

Some years ago I bought on Allegro.pl almost all of my Winged Lancers (with exception to one model I bought around 15 years ago). After some years I started to cleaning those models and assembled them again, horses, bases also were in need of some help then. As I’m good in starting many things at once and not finish them the same was with this unit. Finally I attached a banner today evening. I really love this sculpts – mix of Rus boyars and Polish Winged Hussars.

Kilka lat temu na Allegro kupiłem większość z moich skrzydlatych lansjerów (z wyjątkiem jednego modelu, który kupiłem około 15 lat temu). Po kilku latach zacząłem czyścić te modele i skleiłem je od downa, również konie, podstawków potrzebowały odrobiny pomocy. Tak jak jestem dobry w zaczynaniu kilku rzeczy naraz i nie kończeniu żadnej z nich, tak samo było z tym oddziałem. Dzisiejszego wieczora otrzymali swój sztandar. Uwielbiam te rzeźby – miks rosyjskich bojarów i polskiej husarii.

Some fluff:
Winged Lancers as the rest of my Kislevites are from town Wrotizla in south-east of Kingdom of Kislev. About this town will be something more in the future – most famous persons were boyars Heinrich the Pious and Vladislavus Varnaus – both meet end fighting with Chaos hordes. Current boyar Nicholai is also leading his rota as part of Wrotizla pulk against: Chaos, greenskins and other evil minions. Banner of the town is: red which means: blood of it citizens sacrificed in never ending war against Chaos hordes , blue which means hope – it was added to an original banner when defenceless town was saved by Empire Knights Panther during Great War against Chaos, yellow which means: hard work and is also a colour of Dazh – Kislev god of sun and fire. Eagle was always there, It’s said that forefather of mentioned boyars – Lechislavus followed an eagle and eagle showed him place for a town.

Trochę historii:
Skrzydlaci lansjerzy podobnie jak reszta moich Kislevczyków pochodzi z miasta Wrotizla położonego w południowo wschodniej części Kisleva. O tym mieście napiszę w przyszłości – najbardziej znanymi postaciami byli bojarzy Henryk Pobożny i Władysław Warnau – obaj spotkali swój koniec w walce z hordami Chaosu. Obecny bojar Mikołaja także dowodzi swoją rotą w składzie pułku Wrotizla w wojnie przeciwko Chaosowi, zielonoskórym i pozostałym diabelskim pomiotom. Chorągiew miasta ma następujące barwy: czerwoną co oznacza przelaną krew mieszkańców w niekończącej się wojnie przeci hordą Chaosu, niebieską która oznacza nadzieję – została dodana do oryginalnych barw, kiedy bezbronne miast zostało ocalone przez Imperialnych Rycerzy Zakonu Pantery w trakcie Wielkiej Wojny przeciw Chaosowi, żółty który oznacza: ciężką pracę i jest także barwą Daża – Kislevskiego boga słońca i ognia. Orzeł był zawsze tutaj, podobno poprzednik wymienionych bojarów – Lechisław podążał za orłem i ten wskazał mu siedzibę.

Real ones were the best cavalry of the world and they were fighting our own problems./Oryginalni byli najlepszą kawalerią świata walczyli z naszymi własnymi problemami.

Inspiration of the flag is my beloved Armenia, but before it was my home city of Wrocław with yellow and red, world changed, my mind changed too./Inspiracją dla obecnej flagi jest moja ukochana Armenia, ale wcześniej były to barwy Wrocławi z żółtą i czerwoną, świat się zmienił, moje myśli także.

 

WFB: Bretonnia vs Chaos Dwarfs Sobota, Paźdź 3 2020 

6th and Bretonnia and Chaos Dwarfs and Stary Świat and Warhammer and WROhammer tancreddebeauville 20:14

Today we played with Marian pitched battle on small points (850) in 6th edition with army rules from Ravening Hordes. First time I played against Chaos Dwarfs – and I supposed that rules for Bretonnia from Ravening Hordes will add doubt as they did around twenty years ago on tournament. Of course playing on that set up was my idea and once we tried, we will not repeat it.

Dzisiaj zagraliśmy z Marianem standardową (pitched – zażarta też pasuje) bitwę na małe punkty (850) w szóstą edycję z zasadami do armii z Ravening Hordes. Pierwszy raz grałem przeciwko krasnoludom Chaosu – ale też spodziewałem się, że zasady dla Bretonii z Ravening Hordes dodadzą element niepewności, podobnie jak zrobiły to na turnieju około dwudziestu lat temu. Oczywiście sama idea takie gry pochodziła ode mnie, nie będziemy tego próbować ponownie.

  • Bretonnia: 10 bowmen, 6 Grail Knights with full command, 2 level sorceres, 9 Knights of the Realm with full command, 5 mounted squires (spears).
  • Chaos Dwarfs: 2 Hobgoblin ballistas, 14 blundersbuss with champion and 2nd level wizard, 5 bull centaurs, 19 warriors with full command group and 1st level wizard.
  • Grail Knights on the far right. Rycerze Graala na prawym skrzydle.
  • Knights of the Realm and squires in the middle, along with sorceres.
  • Charge for the King and the Lady, for ethernal glory! Szarża dla króla i dla Pani, po wieczną chwałę!
  • Charge broke Chaos dwarfs warriors. Szarża rozbiła wojowników Krasnoludów Chaosu.
  • Left flank. Lewe skrzydło.
  • What I’m doing here (she had Mistress of Marsh and Master of Wood spells)? Co ja tutaj robię (czarodziejka posiadała niefortunne czary jw.)?
  • Bull centaurs eliminowały three of Grail Knights, jet Knights managed to kill also three of them. Bycze Centaury wyeliminowały trzech Rycerzy Graala, ale rycerze także wyeliminowali trzy centaury.
  • From both armies there are only few models, hard shooting from blunderbuss unit. Z obu armii zostało zaledwie kilka modeli, ciężki ostrzał oddziału z garłaczami.
  • Few knights with paladin finally broke unit by If I’m correct one point in Combat Result. Kilku rycerzy wraz z paladynem w końcu złamało oddział, o ile dobrze pamiętam jednym punktem przewagi w Rezultacie Starcia.

Summary:
– WFB wasn’t balanced in case of armies, so we will return after this try back to 7th edition with army books from 6/7th.
– no one used magic items today and magic was failed all the time.
– from both armies at the end were only few models.
– Pyrric victory for Bretonnia.
– Planszóweczka.pl – thank you for place to play.

Podsumowanie:
– WFB nie był zbalansowany w kwestii armii, tak więc waracamy po tej próbie do siódmej edycji z księgami armii do 6/7 edycji.
– nikt nie używał dzisiaj magicznych przedmiotów i ogólnie magia to była porażka przez całą bitwę.
– z obu armii na koniec zostało zaledwie kilka modeli.
– zwycięstwo Pyrrusowe dla Bretonni.
– Planszóweczka.pl – dzięki za udostępnienie miejsca do gry.

 

WFB: Kislev #02 painting challenge Wtorek, Sier 4 2020 

5th and 6th and 7th and Games Workshop and Kislev and Warhammer and WROhammer tancreddebeauville 16:59

As part of WROhammer painting challenge I finished Ungol horse archers squadron worth 205 points (full command group) for my Kislev/Empire armies – it’s first round of challenge – end date of it – 6th of August, so I did it before end of time. Next round will be from 6th of August till 6th September. Challenge will ends on 6th of December (four round before me).

Jako część malarskiego wyzwania rzuconego na WROhammer skończyłem warty 205 punktów (pełna grupa dowodzenia) szwadron ungolskich strzelców konnych dla mojej armii Kisleva/Imperium – to była pierwsza runda wyzwania które trwa do 6 sierpnia, udało się przed końcem czasu. Kolejna tura będzie trwała od 6 sierpnia do 6 września. Wyzwanie zakończy się z dniem szóstego grudnia (cztery rundy przede mną).

Yes, I know that such big unit of light cavalry is silly, but I like standar bearer model with skulls of barbarians from Chaos Wastes. /Tak, wiem, że taki duży oddział kawalerii jest głupi, ale lubię sztandarowego z czaszkami barbarzyńców z pustkowi Chaosu.

Unit belongs to southern Kislev town Wrotizla – they are yellow and red. /Oddział przynależy do Kislevskiego miasteczka z południa – Wrotizly – ich barwy są żółte i czerwone.

WFB: classical 4/5th edition Dwarfs (PL/EN) Czwartek, Lip 9 2020 

5th and Dwarfs and Stary Świat and Warhammer and WROhammer tancreddebeauville 17:21

Pierwszy rzut 4 edycyjnych krasnoludzkich wojowników (na pudełku zwą się po prostu Dwarfs).  Do pomalowania jeszcze przynajmniej 15 modeli, w tym grupa dowodzenia – niestety zmywanie farby z kupionych na Allegro modeli łatwo nie idzie (za to spłukanie wszystkich moich, kupionych 20 lat temu poszło łatwo i przyjemnie). Oddział będzie częścią sił Imperium z wolnego miasta Middenheim w 4/5 edycji, tudzież będzie to sojuszniczy kontyngent w edycjach 6/7. Około 20 lat temu inspirowany bohaterem „Władcy Pierścieni” Mistrza Tolkiena – Gimlim zakupiłem kilkunastu krasnoludów i działo, armii nie rozwinąłem nigdy.

First wave of 4th edition Dwarf warriors (on box they are named just Dwarfs). Still to paint there are at least 15 models, including command group – unhappilly washing paints from models bought on Allegro is not going well (and washing all models I bought 20 years ago was easily and nicely). This unit will be part of Empire from city state Middenheim in 4/5th edition, in 6/7th edition it will be part of Dwarf allied contingent. Around 20 years ago inspired by Gimli hero from Master Tolkien „Lord of the Rings” I bought over a dozen of Dwarfs and cannon, I never developed an army.

Krasnoludy w jednej linii, może przy kolejnych zrobię konwersję (aż prosi się o inne bronie czy kufel piwa). Dwarfs in one line, maybe with another wave I will do some conversions (I think about some different weapons or a mug in hand).

WFB: Kislev #01 Sobota, Maj 23 2020 

5th and 6th and Games Workshop and Kislev and Oldhammer and Warhammer and WROhammer tancreddebeauville 17:00

Pierwszych pięciu kislevskich strzelców konnych. Pomalowani tak zwykłymi farbami jak i contrastami. Ostatni raz lakierowałem wiele lat temu, tak więc nie jestem pewny czy udało mi się to zrobić dobrze, użyłem matowego lakiery Vallejo. Tak więc jest pięciu więcej żołnierzy dla kislevskiej stanicy Wrotizla. Łącznie sześć pomalowanych modeli (niewidoczny lansjer czeka na pomalowanie reszty swoich kolegów).

First five Kislev horse archers. I painted them with use of normal paints and also with use of contrasts. Many years ago I varnished last time so I’m not sure if I did it well, I used matt varnish from Vallejo. Now I have five more soldiers for Kislev stanitsa Wrotizla. Now I have six painted models in total (winged hussar not visible on photo is waiting for rest of his comrades).
