Wish peace for Russia and Ukraine, Poland neigbours – I know people from both countries and have friends among Russians, wish peace in Palestine and Minor Asia, in Africa. Wish cooperate beetwen people of „The Book” – Christians, Jews, Muslims and all the other religions and ateists – I have friends who don’t believe. My best wishes to my friends from Australia, Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Kingdom of the Netherlands, Moldova, Phillipines, Russian Federation, United Kingdom and all the others!

Życzę wszystkim wierzącym lub nie Wesołych Świąt Wielkanocnych – zdrowia, zamożności i pokoju! Życzę pokoju dla Rosji i Ukrainy, polskich sąsiadów – znam ludzi z obu państw i mam przyjaciół wśród Rosjan, życzę pokoju w Palestynie i Azji Mniejszej, w Afryce. Gods of War – Togo: Borodino’s vs Mikasa Piątek, Kwi 7 2023

Today with Witosław we had game on higher points – 2,000 points per player. I used fleet of two Borodino class battleships, three cruisers – Varyag, Pallada class – Aurora, Novik and one group of torpedo boats. On the other side were Mikasa, three cruisers and three fleets of torpedo boats. We spend good time playing on „Wieczór weteranów” (in en – veteran evening) – day when Bolter is opened longer and all different games are played, today also painting evening was organised.

Somewhere in Pacific Ocean the story begun.

Russian Baltic fleet.
Japanese Imperial Navy.
Both sides after turn one.
Turn two, faster vessels get in contact, one group of Japanese torpedo boats were sunk by Novik and Varyag.
One of the torpedos scored hit on Varyag.
Another group of torpedo boats was sunk.
Heavily damaged Varyag rammed last group of Japanese torpedo boats.
Both sides had to sail into opposite corner of the table.
Novik turned left to achieve that.
Mikasa scored critical hit nad Varyag sunk in a moments.
Whole Russian fleet started turning.
Japanese did the same. Mikasa was hit several times by Borodino main guns, losed rudder…
but her crew managed to repair it.
Moment when Aurora also losed control, as her rudder was damaged…
… and started circling around island…
Going around and around to the end.

Summary:
– good game which resulted as Draw – I had 50 points to Witosławs 54.
– we agreed to play revenge game in next two weeks.

Nothing related to navy, rediscovered this great song.

 

Middle-Earth SBG: Before April master in Wrocław Sobota, Kwi 1 2023

Today, 01.04 in Bolter, Wrocław we played tournament organized by Marian on 1,000 points – with Legendary Legions – at least I had opportunity to paint my Three Hunters – Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas which I did yesterday. Reassembling Aragorn without instruction yesterday was my greatest success anyway.

I’m still learning game and I know that Dunharrow is not army for tournaments, but maybe I will discover how to play it on tournaments. Anyway good time spend there, all game were great with Wojtek, Jan and Piotrek. So it begun somewhere in the Middle Earth.

Wrocław Master is here. I’m not sure, but probably there are some places to be enlisted.

First game with Wojtek, unusual for me as good vs good is civil war in the Middle Earth.
Second game against Jan Mordor, at least good vs evil. Great game as game before.
Again good vs well fighting good. Thank you Piotrek for great game!
Hitting, not wounding… ehh, Legolas.
Thank you Łukasz, for just going out after and few beers. We should repeat all sequence anyway. Three good games and few beers after.

– three great games, not a winner, jet I want to come back.
– still do mistakes, I’m glad that I play with great people who helps me in things I don’t know.

Gods of War: Togo – Bolter event on 25.03 Środa, Mar 29 2023

On last Saturday in Bolter we had event organized by „Torgill” – Maciej Molczyk in system developed by GM Boardgames – company from Wrocław, Poland. They have two great systems I had possibility to own Gods of War: General Lee and Gods of War: Togo.

So it was – I had three great games before I went to my another birthday party, great time spend with several admirals including Torgill with whom I played our first game in Togo ever. So it begun!

Summary:
– it was great to play my first tournament in Togo with many great people, wish to play again and one more time I had to do list before event, mines were waiting and did critical job.
– thank you Maciej for patience, but this time as I was a little bit late, I had to talk with my great neighbour and go back home for token orders.

Polish TV used it for one programme – „Morze”.

 

Chain of Command: Barbarossa 1941′ – „Secure a bridge” Środa, Mar 29 2023

Today I played my first game in Chain of Command (CoC) with Kris in Wrocław Bolter. It was nice game in system which is at some points similar to Sharp Practice which is also from Too Fat Lardies, but during Napoleonic/American Civil War era.

We played a battle for bridge in the are of pre-war Polish Wohlyn (Wołyń) – there was objective in the middle – a bridge allowing trucks and wheeled vehicles to move without problems. German Fallschirmjäger (paratroopers) had to secure it and Soviet Russia had to blow it up or at least held enemy away on the other side.

Soviet platoon without lsenior officer with messangers, BA-3/6 and engineers with demolition charges. Four squads of 11 men each plus light mortar.
Bridge which should be blowed up by Soviets to slow down German advance.
In this game game starts when patrols of both sides starts from the table edges. Four patrols were on both sides.
Patrols came closer, blocking enemy patrols on they way.
Patrols moved away from enemy view changed into unit’s which were those patrols.
Two Soviet squads, leader with messengers and light mortar – on the other side German FJ squad.
Take a point of view, we will cover you!
German M-34 just waiting for they pray.
Soviet DP-28 section eliminated by enemy fire.
On the other side section of Soviet squad equipped with famous PPSz submachine guns move around, from tree to tree.
They own squad layed fire on enemy with they DP-28 and rifles.
German elite against Soviet number. Mortart moved closer, to be in range.
More Germans paratroopers came from hidden out.
More Soviet troops came to stop more Germans, who came from the field of gold.
Soviet infantry without chance to response, just get down under fire.
BA-3/6 arrived in time and was fired by AT rifle from the window on the opposite side of the brook.
Hidding from enemy fire, PPSz section.
Light mortar scored hit on German squad on left flank.
Soviet squad on the hill losed they morale and fled.
Move and fire, Russian infantry try to destroy enemies on the other side of brook.
Fleeing Russians from the hill over the brook and bridge.
Broken section of PPSz fled as well.
DP-28 opened fire from they window.
BA-36 shooting from laser 😀 . Kidding.
I ordered my engineers with demolition charges to go to the bridge, but Germans were waiting.
Hand to hand combats are brutal, as they should be.
I losed my section during melee combat.
One more team attempt to take bridge.
Germans expelled from my side of brook. To be continued.

Summary:
– similarities to Sharp Practice are well visible, jet only similarities.
– it was my first game, hopefully not last, still learning it.
– it was great game, moving patrols is important to create deployment zone, vehicles starts on the road, soldiers cannot shoot stayin behing they friends and probably some more things I don’t know now. Need to play more games, to know such things.


Compared to Bolt Action:
– it’s just different and I can say that I like both systems.
– big plus is that models from ‚Bolt Action’ can be used in ‚Chain of Command’.
– don’t be affraid to jump from one ruleset to another, I like both – one from Warlord Games and other one from TooFatLardies.

 

Team Yankee: Go West Czwartek, Mar 23 2023

Today I played with Generał on smaller points around 50 to 60. Most time we were looking in rulebook as last time we played together around three years ago and it was my last game, jet in last 10 months I bought two books to my small force – Soviet Union army book and rulebook.

Some river crossing and crossroad in the Western Europe.
Spearhead of both forces arrived to take control over important strategical points.
Soviet Union forces move forward with long column of BTR armoured transports.
On the right flank one of my T-72 companies go to the bridge.
Several British tanks were destroyed in tank battle.
Then British opened fire destroying most of company number one.
Company number two losed one tank.
Russian infantry disembarked from they transports.
Soviet HQ tank tries to give example.
Lone recon vehicle move around Soviet flank.
Capturing one of the important objects.

Summary:
– it was great game and we agreed that we should read rules and also to check other set up of rules.
– thank you Generał for great time in Bolter.
– I know that I will add some more things to my force, to have battle group on 100 points.
– as we hate parkings our tanks were moving as they should move in real battle, not side by side.

 

Bolt Action: Banzai charge in Manchuria Środa, Mar 22 2023

Today we played with Łukasz a game on 1,000 points. We used rules for Juggernaut with one exception – bamboo armed soldiers of Japanese Imperial army weren’t limited. We had village with some houses, some walls and some almost open terrain on left and right flanks.

Both armies on plates, one Łukasz plate is not visible. I had 12 order dices and Łukasz had 17.

Gaz-AA which is really good on enemies like bamboo spear armed Japanese.
Japanese heavy howitzer.
So it begun!
Russian sniper hidding in the building.
Centre of Red Army.
They got pins from inexperienced mortar.
Inexpierienced Soviet infantry, mortar and M3 White Scout Car.
Japanese are coming, but Red Army tries to counter them defending walls and other kind of obstacles.
Veterans with famous pepeszas and flamethrower team in action.
Hand to hand combat started.
One brave Japanese soldier left after melee combat.
Many hand to hand combats.
Russian infantry charged on bayonnets…
… and won combat.
BA-3/6 armoured car just go to place where was need.
Tankodesantniki jumped down from a T-34.
Then moved to open massive fire on incoming Japanese.
Gaz-AA clearing left flank from Japanese treaty.
Left flank and middle was almost cleaned.
Another combat won by Russians.
FUBAR – Łukasz got it.
Japanese charged on T-34 and immobilised it.
Another Japanese charge was too much for encirled Russians.
They comrades on the other flank charged and wiped out Japanese.
On left Russian infantry was hat by howitzer, unfortunately something was wrong with ammo.
I losed two red dices, other losed dices belonged to Japanese.

Summary:
– great game and I’m pretty sure that bamboo spearmen army can be much better with some more technical stuff like tank, armoured car, sniper, unit of cavalry – not only bamboo spearmens..

 

Napoleonic wars: Russian officer Wtorek, Mar 21 2023

Gods of War: Togo – on a way to Tsushima Poniedziałek, Mar 20 2023

Today with Duderson we played in Bolter bigger game on 2,000 points per side, I had Russian fleet composed of Borodino, Varyag, Aurora, Novik, Ushakov and two squads of Buynyi destroyers – two on one base. My oponent has Japanese fleet composed of Mikasa, Niitaka, Izumu, Skikishima, Takachiho and one squad of Hayabusa torpedo boats. We played scenario number one – line battle with exiting on the opposite corner of the table. So it begun with setting our fleets on the table.

I had some plan with such setting of my navy.
Admiral Duderson Japanese Imperial navy.
Orders placed a way I should use in my next game. Why two orders – look at the end of how it looked on civilian transatlantic – ‚Titanic’.
Several warships had chance o ramming my own fleet.
Japanese fleet.
I tried to hid behind island and then turn right to shoot all guns from right sides.
Coming closer to minefield.
One of the Buynyi class destroyers group tried to sunk enemy with torpedos. One of them scored hit on Mikasa.
I losed them soon, then I losed Novik. One group of destroyers tried to clean minefield, but without success.
Aurora moved thru minefield, unfortunately she was hit by mines and exploded.
Borodino lost half of it strenght, including all artillery on right side because of some mine exploded.
Varyag was hit by mine, but survived till enemy opened fire, sunking it in one successfull salvo.
Victory belongs to Japanese mine of our biggest fun of using them in this game.
Without many of it’s guns Borodino shared fate of the other warships.
Admiral Ushakov still standind, firing salvo after salvo.
Finally our Japanese fire focused on brave battleship finally sunking Ushakov.

Summary:
– next time I should avoid mines, I tried to clear them, but without success, so I losed Aurora and Novik on minefield, Borodino and Varyag were heavily damaged because of them.
– we have plans to play big game again 🙂 .
– thank you Duderson for great game.
– in case of result, it was achievement on the level of Tsushima for Japanese.

Stopping ship or warship weren’t simple, it was time costing opearation involving many people.

 

Middle-Earth SPG – Helm’s Deep/Helmowy Jar Niedziela, Mar 19 2023

I think it was on the beginning of February – first Saturday when before I had some issues with my health and at the end I was sick at home office work for one week, felt great and then finally after weekend went to doctor and got some antibiotics. At least during weekend when everything was good with me we managed to play with Łukasz siege of Helms Deep. I took much more photos and after looking on them I left only small gallery. Finally Sauruman servants blowed up wall as in the movie, but didn’t went to the main bastion.

Myślę, że było to na początku lutego – pierwsza sobota kiedy przed miałem trochę problemów z zdrowiem i będąc chorym pracowałem z domu przez jeden tydzień, poczułem się lepiej przed weekendem by w ostateczności pójść do doktora po antybiotyk. Przynajmniej w trakcie weekendu wszystko był w porządku i udało nam się zagrać z Łukaszem szturm na Helmowy Jar. Zrobiłem o wiele więcej zdjęć, ale po tym jak je przejrzałem zostawiłem tylko małą galerię. Ostatecznie słudzy Saurumana wysadzili kawałek muru jak w filmie, ale nie byli w stanie dostać się do głównego bastionu.
