Today we played with Łukasz in Bolter on 1200 points. We used many great terrains I bought from Klaudia – she do a great job in many different scales for different systems. Probably we used too many terrains, but we wanted to see them on the table. So we started – probably my 10th game and Łukasz 2nd, I’m still learning, but at least know rules to the level I can play.

Summary: – this time Russia won against Japanese. – great game with many beautiful terrains, which will be avaible only for Togo in Bolter. – Togo – one of the systems I get in on 2022′ – one of the best systems I meet from GM Boardgames avaible in Bolter – I’m pretty sure English version of rules is coming soon.
W ostatnią środę rozegraliśmy następującą rozgrywkę, w której wydzielona grupa bojowa z niemieckiej 12-tej Armii generała Waltera Wencka ścigana ze wschodu przez czołówki pancerne Armii Czerwonej usiłowała przebić się na zachód by złożyć broń Armii Stanów Zjednoczonych. Część wojsk niemieckich ubezpieczała odwrót kolumny uciekinierów, pozostała część starła się z nadchodzącymi zza zachodu wojskami amerykańskimi.
Historycznie 12 Armia była ostatnią nadzieję okrążanej stolicy Niemiec. Fuhrer kryjący się w swoim bunkrze w Berlinie do końca wierzył, że sojusz Aliantów Zachodnich ze Związkiem Radzieckim się załamie i nastąpi cudowne ocalenie stolicy. 12 Armia nie była w stanie pokonać olbrzymich sił Radzieckich wspartych siłami Ludowego Wojska Polskiego, ale nie wszystko było stracone – nadal pod generałem Walterem Wenckiem znajdowali się żołnierze i cywile, którym można było oszczędzić losu spędzonego w sowieckiej niewoli
Most oddzialający stół na część zachodnią i wschodnią.Stąd na miasto bronione przez Krisa nacierali Amerykanie Łukasza.Kolumna uciekinierów.Trochę słynnych 8,8 gotowych do walki z czołgami.Za konwój i obronę miasta przed Armią Czerwoną odpowiadał von Papiór.Jeden z nielicznych Tygrysów których nie porzucono z braku paliwa.Radziecki czołg ostrzałem karabinów zatrzymał ostatnią ciężarówkę. Oficer NKWD dzierżąc listę tylko czekał, by z ciężarówki wyciągnąć Wernhera von Brauna.Z ukrycia pod drzewami wyłonił się Tygrys I.Radziecka piechota w natarciu.I trochę więcej piechoty na prawym skrzydle.Panther V osłaniająca odwrót niemieckich uciekinierów.Po drugiej stronie siły dowodzone przez gen. Zdziebeł w natarciu.Dwie ciężarówki unieruchomione, może jest tam ktoś, z kim oficerowie wojsk wewnętrznych zamienią słowo lub dwa?Kolejny T-34-85 dołączył do walki.Mur to dla czołgu pestka, a za murem Tygrys – trafiony, załoga w szoku, zerwana gąsienica ale stoi.Załoga T-34-85 pospiesznie opuściła pojazd po tym jak oberwał z pancerzownicy.
Podsumowanie: – dzięki za fajną grę Karol, Kris, Łukasz, Sławek i Panu Piotrowi za świetną prelekcję przed grą. – parę zdjęć nadawało się do kasacji, ale na drodze miałem jeszcze parę pojazdów które utkwiły w zatorze. – cały czas odnoszę wrażenie, że atakujący powinien mieć o wiele więcej pojazdów niż obrońca – by nie bał się ich używać a co za tym idzie stracić.
Yesterday I played another game with Sambor in our WROHammer league 2022-23 – thank you Palen, for organising page and league! We had interesting battle in WFB 7th edition. There were several points when game stopped for a moment. I tried to do my best and do photos of those moments.
We played on modified set of rules for WFB – Lore of Grumpy released by Alex, we use version from Semptember/October of 2022.
Both sides after first turn, my Bretonnians prayed to The Lady. Doomwheel came close to my trebuchet.Knights Errants and general’s morale – what could be wrong?Knights Errants fled the field, I’ve been sad.Unusual situation, but archers sometimes took they short swords and daggers and charge.Another charge of my second great unit against doomwheel.Grail Knights had to just turn on ‚Abomination’.Archers and mounted squires won against the slaves.Abomination was hungry and wanted easy prey.Pegasus Knigths won combat, as Skavens started killing each other.Grail Knights with Duc Tancred, battle standard bearer Louis charged abomination.Hold the line shouted young squire to fellow men at arms. Grail Knights killed abomination…… but on six it returned and charged them on flank. It had only two wounds, but still I weren’t able to kill it.They were fleeing, but rallied and fought once more time, jet no photo as evidence.Duc of Beauville and his battle standard bearer held against all odds tille the end.
Summary: – great game against Sambor. – at the end it was 14:6, I was loser in this battle beetwen noble Bretonnians and vile Skavens. – several moments in the game where crucial for both sides.
Today we played with Marek in Togo, 1200 points per side. This battle was deadly to my Borodino class, as it was sunk first time. It was great game and I know that Borodino is not immortal.
Russian fleet with Varyag class, Borodino class, Pallada class and Novik class.Among Japanese were Mikasa class and two others. Japanese also had minefield.How orders to warships looks like/Borodino move in the middle toward enemies. I believed that it’s good idea to take fire on and wait for help of the other part of my force.Aurora received many hits.Borodino started fire.How Aurora looked after enemy fire.Borodino ammunition exploded, lose was disaster.Japanese fleet moving forward.Russian navy trying to escape, as with lose of Borodino and heavily damaged Aurora it was the best option to avoid enemy fire.Novik and Varyag escaped, Aurora was sunk by enemy. It was big Japanese victory as I losed 35 to 0.
Last days I had too much free time, sometimes things happen unusual way. Still there are positives – I can play more games including WFB – today 7th edition. With Bartłomiej we played game on 1250 points per side, I played my Empire and Kislev, my opponent played first time his Bretonnia.
Both sides after turn one.Tried to hit, but cannon ball started bouncing to far.Pistoliers tried to shoot down some Knights of the Realm.Kislev Ungol riders tried to disturb some other Knights of the Realm.It was too much for Knights Panther to hold ground, losed three of them and was broken in combat and fled.It could be good charge, but I did almost nothing and archers scored three pistoliers, winned combat and cought them. Situation out of control, as cannon crew fled because of broken unit.Panic after losing two winged lancers, but they…… managed to rally.Before unit was destroyed – handgunners managed to eliminate whole unit of Grail Knights.The end.
Summary: – it was great game and it’s nice to see that younger generations are intrested in file and rank system, especially WFB. – need to paint some meele infantry and more missile armed handgunners and crossbowmens, maybe hellblaster, as again I saw that I have too much cavalry which should fight with enemy weakend by my own fire.
Yesterday we played with Łukasz a game against the game – first time I was playing in cooperative way in Fallout: Wasteland Warfare and it was good experience. It was a long time ago, when I last played with Łukasz. So it was nice to play again and even some plan of playing campaign was born. I had to finish some more USA style building – the church on the table was painted by me around 1,5 year ago and finally it was used in Fallout. I got this church for Sharp Practice during American Civil War, but happilly it can be used in one more game.
We played it on Monday evening in Bolter. Need to play more often in this game, still need to change one important think in my life, as something collapsed week ago at the end of Monday.
On one side of table were ghouls and mutants.In the centre was a church and supposed technology of past.Mutants came close to survivors.Feral ghoul did chaos among our team.Mutants were hard enemy on left side of the road.Part of our team in Power Armor after receiving to many hits fled the field.Survivors escapes as they found some ancient stuff.The main target which resides in the church was out of range of our team.
Summary: – great time spend on playing with Łukasz against the game. Thank you Łukasz! – have some inspiration to finish more building and paint some more miniatures for Fallout: Wasteland Warfare. – hope we will start some campaign against game, I bought book for it in past. Now book is under milimeters of dust. – need to find STL. files I bought several years ago and ask someone from my friends to print some appropriate terrains. – our team were looking for something, part of some engine or maybe a Holy Christian book – we don’t know it jet, as we weren’t able to get inside the church.
War never changes – which is quote used in Fallouts – yes, war never changes.
On last Saturday we played bigger battle in General d’Armee – on one side were British and Portugal led by generals Damian and Tomek, on the other side were mix of many different European nations represented by French, Prussia and Russia led by Bartosz, Jakub, Piotr and me.
British are coming.British centre.Part of our centre were secured by Russian infantry and Polish Uhlan regiment.Left flank secured by several cavalry regiments.French securing other part of the centre.Prussian took right flank of our combined force.British left flank opposed by Prussians.Battle for a tawern and crossroads.Russian artillery ready to open fire.Chapel – silent deponent of battle.Among British were Portugal regiment.British right flank secured by cavalry and artillery.Close range fire beetwen Russian Jagers and British artillery.British seized defensive position in tavern.Prussians taking positions behind hedgehod.British slowly advancing on left flank.Cavalry charged on British cavalry.British cavalry after short clash turned tail and fled.Polish uhlans in full speed charged British cannon battery…… and in advance galloped toward British sharpshooters.One of the Russian batallions had enough and retreated.British cavalry regrouped into squares.In act of bravery uhlans charged British square.Left flank secured and British reorganized to defend against massed cavalry regiments.
Summary: – it was great battle – from initial four players we grow up to six generals around the table. – victory belonged to continentals and cavalry did great job on the left flank.
Today I played my fifth battle in Togo, with Witosław we played in Wrocław Bolter – official distributor of GM Boardgames games. Today I was asked – do we play at night? I said ok, whatever it means. Then we read how it works and we started deployment of our fleets – Spanish Armada and Russian Baltic fleet. We played on 1200 points per side and had some observations about night fight.
Dzisiaj zagrałem moją piątą grę w Togo, z Witosławem zagraliśmy we wrocławskim Bolterze – oficjalnym dystrybutorem gier z stajni GM Boardgames. Zostałem zapytany – czy gramy w nocy? Odpowiedziałem – czemu nie, cokolwiek to znaczy. Po tym przeczytaliśmy jak działa walka w nocy i zaczęliśmy rozstawianie naszych flot – Armady królestwa Hiszpanii i Bałtyckiej floty carskiej Rosji. Graliśmy na 1200 punktów na stronę, mieliśmy kilka obserwacji o walce w nocy.
Both fleets deployed for battle. Obie floty rozstawione do bitwy.Novik securing right wing. Nowik zabezpieczający prawe skrzydło.Aurora (Pallada), Borodino & Varyag.Novik found enemies. Nowik odnalazł przeciwników.On left Spanish Armada, on right Russian Baltic fleet. Po lewej Hiszpańska Armada, po prawej Rosyjska flota Bałtycka.Novik received several hits and catch fire. Nowik otrzymał kilka trafień i zaczął się palić.Novik torpedo scored a hit. Torpeda z Nowika trafiła.Several explosions on Novik, only few of her crew survived. Kilka eksplozji na Nowiku, tylko kilku członków jego załogi przeżyło.Aurora turned right and started fire. Aurora skręciła w prawo i otworzyła ogień.Her guns splited fire on two warships. Jej działa podzieliły ogień na dwa okręty.One of them was sunk. Jeden z nich został zatopiony.Varyag fighting artillery duel. Wariag walczący w pojedynku artyleryjskim.Fires on both warships. Pożary na obu okrętach.Varyag sunk after getting many hits. Wariag zatonął po otrzymaniu wielu trafień.Spanish survivors. Ocalałem hiszpańskie okręty.
Summary: – we played nice game, first time my Russia was victorious – 24:7 – big victory. – waiting for some sunking warships, as they could look better on photos in place of nothing.
Podsumowanie: – zagraliśmy fajną grę, pierwszy raz moja Rosja odniosła zwycięstwo – 24:7 – duże zwycięstwo. – czekam na tonące okręty, one mogą wyglądać znacznie lepiej na zdjęciach niż nic.
🇬🇧 Yesterday, we played the fourth and final battle of the Stalingrad campaign, which had been unfolding at Bolter in Wrocław since December of last year. The previous clashes had developed differently from their historical counterparts, allowing the Germans to hold their positions in Stalingrad for longer. In response, the Oberkommando der Wehrmacht decided to send in an armoured relief force, which included, among other things, the brand-new Panzerkampfwagen VI tanks — the famous Tigers.
On the Red Army side, Krisu, Mateusz, Przemek, and I took to the field. Opposing us were German, Romanian, and Hungarian forces, together with the relief units, commanded by Krzysiek, Łukasz, Maciek, and Sławek. Before the two sides finally clashed, a lecture was given by Mr Piotr Galik from the Semper Fidelis Foundation.
🇵🇱 Wczoraj rozegraliśmy finałową, czwartą bitwę kampanii stalingradzkiej, która od grudnia ubiegłego roku toczyła się we wrocławskim Bolterze. Poprzednie starcia ułożyły się inaczej niż w rzeczywistości historycznej, dzięki czemu Niemcom udało się dłużej utrzymać swoje pozycje w Stalingradzie. W odpowiedzi Oberkommando der Wehrmacht zdecydowało o wysłaniu pancernej odsieczy, w której znalazły się między innymi nowiutkie czołgi Panzerkampfwagen VI, czyli słynne Tygrysy.
Po stronie Armii Czerwonej do walki stanęli Krisu, Mateusz, Przemek i ja. Po drugiej stronie znalazły się siły niemieckie, rumuńskie i węgierskie wraz z oddziałami odsieczy, dowodzone przez Krzyśka, Łukasza, Maćka i Sławka. Zanim jednak doszło do starcia obu potęg, prelekcję wygłosił pan Piotr Galik z fundacji Semper Fidelis.
🇬🇧 Summary: – In the final outcome, the Red Army captured Field Marshal Paulus’s headquarters, defended by Axis forces, before the relief force could rescue his staff and the remaining remnants of the 6th Army and allied units. – Many thanks to all participants for a great game. – I would like to thank my fellow players for a smooth and very enjoyable battle, Rafał from Bonapartists Paint Studio for preparing an excellent campaign and for organizing and painting additional models, Mr Piotr Galik for yet another excellent lecture, and the Bolter team for providing a perfect venue for our Stalingrad campaign. – It is now time to begin preparations for Juggernaut 2023 in Warsaw, and also to return more seriously to Middle-earth SBG and bring my Dunharrow army up to a playable level. – Wednesday at Bolter is a day dedicated to Bolt Action, and from the end of December also to Middle-earth – so I will somehow have to split my time between both systems 😉

Może nie jest to utwór o Stalingradzie (dawniej Carycyn, obecnie Wołgograd) ale z powodzeniem mógłby o nim być. Szkoda ludzi z obu stron i ich bliskich, którzy mimowolnie stali się uczestnikami tamtych wydarzeń.
🇬🇧 Yesterday, we played the third battle of our Stalingrad campaign, moving onto the snow-covered lands of Soviet Russia. After several months of heavy fighting in Stalingrad itself — formerly Tsaritsyn, now Volgograd, the Hero City — the Red Army held its ground and, under the command of General Aleksandr Vasilevsky, launched a major operation aimed at breaking the siege and destroying the German forces and their allies in the region. Operation Uranus had just begun.
The event is being organized at Bolter, a game store in Wrocław — huge thanks go to Rafał from the Bolter team for organizing it and for providing so many models, and I dedicate this post to him. I would also like to express my gratitude to Mr Piotr Galik from the Semper Fidelis Foundation for, as always, an excellent lecture introducing the historical background of the Battle of Stalingrad.
We played the breakthrough battle across two tables. On the first, the Red Army’s objective was to seize the positions held by the Germans and Hungarians, while on the second, it aimed to crush the Romanian and Italian forces. The attacking side fielded many tanks, including the well-known T-34s, KV-1s, and BA armoured cars, as well as somewhat less familiar vehicles such as the light T-70 tank. Among the attackers were also the famous rocket launchers — the legendary “Katyushas.”
🇵🇱 Wczoraj rozegraliśmy trzecią bitwę naszej kampanii stalingradzkiej, przenosząc się na skute śniegiem ziemie radzieckiej Rosji. Po kilku miesiącach ciężkich walk w samym Stalingradzie — dawnym Carycynie, obecnym Wołgogradzie, mieście bohaterze — Armia Czerwona utrzymała swoje pozycje i pod dowództwem generała Aleksandra Wasilewskiego rozpoczęła wielką operację mającą na celu przerwanie oblężenia oraz zniszczenie wojsk niemieckich i ich sojuszników w regionie. Operacja Uran właśnie się rozpoczęła.
Wydarzenie organizowane jest w Bolterze, wrocławskim sklepie z grami — wielkie podziękowania za organizację oraz udostępnienie wielu modeli należą się Rafałowi z ekipy Boltera, któremu dedykuję ten wpis. Słowa wdzięczności kieruję również do pana Piotra Galika z fundacji Semper Fidelis za, jak zwykle, świetną prelekcję wprowadzającą w realia wydarzeń związanych z bitwą stalingradzką.
Bitwę przełamania rozegraliśmy na dwóch stołach. Na pierwszym celem Armii Czerwonej było zajęcie pozycji Niemców i Węgrów, natomiast na drugim — rozbicie sił rumuńskich i włoskich. Po stronie atakujących pojawiło się wiele czołgów, w tym znane T-34, KW-1 oraz samochody pancerne BA, a także nieco mniej kojarzone pojazdy, takie jak lekki czołg T-70. Wśród nacierających znalazły się również słynne wyrzutnie rakietowe — legendarne „Katiusze”.
🇬🇧 Summary: – It was a great battle. Despite everything, on this sector of the front the Germans and their allies managed to hold their positions against the Soviet armoured steamroller. There is still hope that the Axis forces will be able to break out of the encirclement at Stalingrad. – It was a major battle, featuring units that are not usually seen on the table, such as heavy tanks and aircraft. I am fully aware that all of my KV tanks will probably only see action in events like this. – Huge thanks to Rafał (Bonapartist Paint Studio) for the sleepless nights, his painting and modelling skills, and for organizing this campaign for such a large group of participants. – It was a pleasure to take part alongside such a fine group of Red Army and Axis commanders – fellow generals Kris, Mateusz, and Przemek, as well as the commanders on the opposing side: Kasia, Daniel, Łukasz, Maciek, and Sławek. It was great, and it will only get better!

Nadal jest nadzieja, że siły Osi zdołają wyrwać się z okrążenia w Stalingradzie. – to była wielka bitwa – z na ogół nie używanymi czołgami ciężkimi czy samolotami. Zdaję sobie sprawę, że wszystkie moje czołgi KW będę wystawiał wyłącznie w takich wydarzeniach. – wielkie dzięki Rafał (Bonapartist Paint Studio) za nieprzespane noce, umięjętności malarskie, modelarskie i zorganizowanie zabawy w postaci kampanii dla sporego grona uczestników. – dla zacnego grona dowódców sił Armii Czerwonej i Osi w którym miałem okazję brać udział – towarzyszy generałów Krisa, Mateusza, Przemka oraz dowódctwa strony przeciwnej Kasi, Daniela, Łukasza, Maćka, Sławka było świetnie, będzie jeszcze lepiej!
