Black Powder: Hold the ground! Sobota, Czer 26 2021

Today we played a bigger battle in Black Powder. There were two manors – one held by my Russians and another held by Gargamels Italians. There were two British – forces of Damian and Tomek – my Russians were on their side. There were Marians French, Kris Württemberg and Barteks Neapolitanians and Würzburg. I don’t remember how manors were threated at the end.

Summary:
– Black Powder is really nice game, thank you to my game dealer Marian – I’m involved, jet not so fast with painting – unhapilly there is Cyberpunk 2077 which is blocker.
-I guess that we have a chance to build great community in all systems related to Black Powder era – I mean Black Powder, Sharp Practice etc.
– from Bartek we know, that in Praga there is local community playing Black Powder, hope we can find a contact with them.
– thanks for Rafał for terrains and Bolter.pl for place to play.
– thank you Bartek, Damian, Grzesiek, Krzysiek, Marian and Tomek for great game.
Bistro Narożnik have great dumplings – they are my favourite pub on Nadodrze in Wrocław. Great that they survived plandemy.
– I want to support our hobby in Wrocław – Bolter.pl, Planszoweczka.pl, Ada i Aga – whenever we will play, I will add it under raport. I miss Centrum Gier Bitewnych, old Bard and Sfan, but they got great replacement.

Black Powder: Polish Uhlan Regiment – Russian Empire Wtorek, Czer 8 2021

After painting batallion of Russian infantry year ago, I started investigating if there were any Polish units in Russian army and I discovered, that there were Polish uhlans. It was fast decision – I wanted to have them in my Tzar army. Many thanks to friend from Maniexite for help in case of sending me this URL and then great pictures of different uhlan units uniforms in Russian Empire army (if I want more uhlans, next one unit will be Wohlynian Uhlans) – I added picture of Polish uhlans I got at the end. As we have discussion on our FB group about banners in light cavalry, I will give standard bearer banner I found here. First unit for light cavalry brigade is finished, more to be done in the future.

Black Powder: Unexpected alliance Sobota, Maj 29 2021

Saturday 29.05.2021 we played game with Marian, Jędrzej and me on one side (French, Polish, Russian) and Tomek and Damian on the British/Hannoverian side. Each side had six brigades. I assume that Tzar recognized Napoleon reign and splited Europe beetwen them – but there were still United Kingdom.

Summary:
– nice game with many miniatures, need to finish my Russian brigade by adding one more batallion.
– do not roll before giving unit order.
– hope to have more painted soldiers next time, including maybe Russian uhlans.

Black Powder: 2nd batalion of Brest Litovsk, Lithuania, Livonia and Smolensk inspections Niedziela, Maj 16 2021

Today I finished second batalion of Brest Litovsk, Lithuania, Livonia and Smolensk inspections – at least I hope that such regiment existed – research before me, still guys are under Moscow banner. I have plan to create brigade composed of three batalions.

Models in unit are compositions of Warlord Games and Perrys Miniatures and they fit well. Paintes used there are mix of GW ordinary paints and shades plus contrasts (black, green and skin) – I will add list later to this post.

From today I know one more thing about cartridge boxes – I guess that in such big organization which was tzar army someone send them wrong ones 😀 .

Black Powder: First game Sobota, Mar 20 2021

Today I played my first game in Black Powder and first game in Bolter shop. We played three on three in scenario when main object is to secure and held monastery. As I don’t have too many painted Russians I used borrowed models plus my only painted battalion with command group. It was interesting game. I played with Damian (Portuguese) and Rafał (British) vs Adam (Vistula Legion), Marian and Mikołaj (French).

Summary:
– nice return to Napoleonic era. I guess it could be good idea to read about those times and units.
– game written by Rick Priestley and Jerwish Johnson cannot be bad and is really nice, a little bit different to games I know.
– shame on my, that my army is not painted with exception of commander, infantry batallion and two cannons. Need to finish some WFB and go back to Black Powder.
– hopefully it’s not last game. We played this game in Wrocław, Lower Silesia – there is group on Facebook – Wrocławscy Bonapartyści.
– my first game in Bolter, first game in Black Powder. List of nice places to play in Wrocław extended – as I like all time to play in Planszowka.pl (I returned to playing by ordering from them WFB/Bolt Action before AoS started) and in Aga and Ada, I hope to return to Bolter, at least to play and learn Black Powder.

Black Powder: 2nd Russian 6 pdr gun Poniedziałek, List 16 2020

Finally I there is another gun for Russians, still in near future before me are 12 uhlans, 3 officers and two more infantry batallions from Moscow.

Yesterday I managed to finish this nice Warlord Games artillery piece. Russian gun in a process of being prepared to fire.

Wczoraj udało mi się skończyć ten fajny model działa firmy Warlord Games. Rosyjska armata jest właśnie przygotowywana do oddania strzału.

Black Powder: HQ for Russians Środa, Paźdź 14 2020

Just finished this Warlord Games miniatures – general Mironov Kuznecov with his staff and drummer.

Nareszcie skończyłem figurki z Warlorda Games – jenerał Mironow Kuznecov wraz z adiutantem i doboszem.

Black Powder – start Niedziela, Lu 2 2020

Nareszcie skończyłem póki co pierwszy i jedyny oddział rosyjskiej piechoty do gry Black Powder – wojny napoleońskie. Malować zacząłem parę miesięcy temu, głównie w grudniu 2019 i styczniu tegoż roku. Skorzystałem z uprzejmości Warlord Games i ich instrukcji. Chociaż malowałem głównie farbkami Games Workshop – w tym kontrastami, o ile pamięć mnie nie myli użyłem także zielonych washy Vallejo.

Finally I finished my first and only unit of Russian infantry for game Black Powder – Napoleonic wars. I started painting them few months ago, mainly in December 2019 and January of this year. I used instruction provided by Warlord Games. Although I painted using maninly Games Workshop paints – including contrasts, if I remember, still I used some Vallejo green washes.

Unit is looking as below, standards it good were beloning to Brest Litovsk, Lithuania, Livonia and Smolensk, all released in year 1800. Smolesk won it for me, as I remember that three regiments fought on Polish-Lithuanian side on battle of Grunwald in year 1410 – by the way, at beginning I wanted Moscow banner, but I don’t had them.

Przód oddziału. Front of the unit.

Podsumowanie:

Summary:
– probably they aren’t the best models to be painted by me, although they are really beautiful models.
– not all at once, sometimes it’s better to wait with finishing something.
– check if banner could be placed on a pole before gluing pole to the hand of standard bearer.
– cannon and command group were ordered, then I will need to rest from painting Black Powder with exception of cavalry if some will be released.
