🇵🇱 Dzisiaj planowaliśmy odtworzyć bitwę nad Kaczawą (niem. Katzbach), ale Rafał, który był pomysłodawcą, nie mógł się pojawić. Zamiast tego rozegraliśmy grę, w której Prusy (Jakub) i Rosja (ja) zmierzyły się z siłami napoleońskiej Francji (Jędrzej).

Graliśmy w Bolterze i korzystaliśmy z pięknych terenów dostępnych w ich magazynie. Dziękujemy Adamowi i Rafałowi za wszystko dzisiaj. Obie strony musiały kontrolować kluczowe skrzyżowania oraz cmentarz w centrum, aby wygrać bitwę.

🇬🇧 Today we planned to recreate the Battle of Katzbach (Polish: Kaczawa), but Rafał, who came up with the idea, couldn’t make it. Instead, we played a game with Prussia (Jakub) and Russia (me) against the forces of Napoleonic France (Jędrzej).

We played at Bolter and used all those beautiful terrain pieces from their storage. Thank you, Adam and Rafał, for everything today. Both sides had to control the key crossroads and the graveyard in the center to win the battle.

🇵🇱 Podsumowanie:
– Było to zwycięstwo sojuszu prusko-rosyjskiego,
– Świetna gra – dziękuję Kubie, Jędrzejowi oraz ekipie Boltera,
– To jeden z najprostszych i najtańszych systemów na start,
– Niestety, dzisiaj było nas tylko trzech.

🇬🇧 Summary:
– it was victory of Prussian-Russian alliance,
– great game – thank you Kuba and Jędrzej and Bolter staff,
– it’s one of the simplest and cheapest system to start,
– unfortunately there were only three of us today.

 

Black Powder: Let’s start in Anno Domini 2022 Sobota, Sty 22 2022

Today we played on small battle (only three of us arrived – me, Jędrzej and Karaś) in Black Powder 2nd edition. On one side were French and on the other Spain and Russia. We played in Bolter.pl – Wrocław, PL. Many thanks for Bolter crew – today Basiorek and Rafał, as we got all terrains we need (today I was there around 6th hours).

Russianns came first and started shooting at French column with they gun battery.
Russians in column to attack.
French cavalry arrived on right flank.
Russians turn right to welcome enemy cavalry.
More and more French – Russians try to secure crossroads.
Polish Uhlans Regiment in the Tzar service.
French battalion took Russian battery during fight on bayonnets.
Russian muskeeter batallion march to other flank…
… too late to savve gun battery.
Polish Uhlans charged and was countercharged.
Spanish arrived in columns.
Uhlans retreat after fight with cuirrasiers.
French charged on unpreapared Spanish marching in column.
Cavalry regiments meet again.
One Russian infantry batallion was finally broken by French artillery batteries.
Uhlans regrouped.
Russian main battalion broken French battalion during fight on bayonnets.
Spanish in column do not knew what was going on at the head of they columns.
Brave batallion run for they lives…
… as French batteries foccused all they fire on them.
French cuirrasiers advanced.
The battle was over. French lead by sir Błażej won over my Russians and Karp (if I’m correct) Spanish.

Summary:
– great game as always, thank you developers from Warlord Games for it (many old game developers responsible for my belowed WFB).
– we had some mindfuck with some rules, as we missed Krisu and Damian, still we had fun.
– Wrocław, PL – is open to play with ppl from other countries 🙂 .
– I know I had to paint more, thank you Marian for friendy reminder! To be shure, when I’m happy with painted batallion, Marian paints army.
– wish all great weekend!

Music I love, even if policy sucks I like Russians and normality in contacts with Russia and Bialorussia. Let’s remember tragic fate of Romanow family.

 

Black Powder: Battle for a river crossing Sobota, Paźdź 30 2021

Today in Wrocław we played our monthly Black Powder game. Today we played Great Britain against unusual alliance of France and Russian Empire. Today British side focused on crossing river (cross it with 13 infantry battalions/cavalry regiments) in four places (two bridges and two fords), French and Russian tried to stop them.

  • Two bridges, in addition there were two fords – one on far left and other on far right.
  • HQ of allies inside monastery tower.
  • British are coming!
  • Russians with supporting French on right flank.
  • Left flank belonged to French, middle belonged to French plus cavalry reserve (including Polish uhlans on tsar service).
  • French marching.
  • Time to start.
  • French send screen of skirmishers ahead of main units.
  • More and more soldiers of the British Crown.
  • When right flank had problems with understanding orders, middle and left flank on allies side moved. Artillery took hill and hid behind a fence.
  • Russian artillery got orders to shoot British battery on the other side of the river.
  • British crossed bridge in the fron of Russians.
  • French moved into the forest.
  • HQ send small regiments of light cavalry to aid Russians and French.
  • British crossed also other bridge. French tries to send them back.
  • More British in front of Russian flank.
  • Charge on bayonnets with supporting charge of uhlans on the flank.
  • Both lines shooting they opponents.
  • British also want to pass river by the ford.
  • Few units of French-Russians alliance were broken and left field .
  • Hussars are coming.
  • Uhlans charged unit in it rear and unhappily were broken and fled.
  • Taking position to shoot on the flank of hussars.
  • The end.
  • Russian brigade remained unbroken with maybe some more French.
  • Something is coming back probably?

Black Powder: Albion vs European alliance Niedziela, Wrz 19 2021

Today we played big game in Black Powder on one side were Damians and Tomeks British, on other side were Kris French, Grzegorz Prussians, Jędrzej Spanish and Portugals and my Russians with Polish uhlan regiment. Our target was to secure both bridges. We played our game in Bolter.pl.

  • Beginning of the game.
  • Only one Russian batallion arrived and soon British started shooting on them.
  • French infantry and cavalry charged British.
  • One battalion of sons of Albion was routed and fled the field. More British were coming passing the bridges.
  • British forming battle line.
  • Uhlans encouraged by French action…
  • … charged.
  • Several hand to hand combat took place. One of our cavalry regiment was routed from the field by British artillery battery.
  • Uhlans first time worked well.
  • After destroying infantry batallions Polish Uhlans charged guns.
  • Russian and French infantry moving, to take the bridge.
  • Cavalry charge in the middle.
  • Uhlans broke cavalry regiment.
  • Kris French charged on bayonnets.
  • Tomeks columns in the forest.
  • Bloody fight to control bridge.
  • British cavalry on the flank destroyed infantry and charged uhlans on the flank.
  • Uhlans routed from the field.
  • Scottish batallion send Russian batallion from the field.
  • Kris cavalry took bridge after routing of British infantry.

Summary:
– it was good game – we played around 3,5 hours.
– I missed few photos, as Grzesiek cavalry brigade was looking for a ford and they charged on Damians cavalry, routing them.

 

Black Powder: Battle for the river crossing Czwartek, Wrz 2 2021

Today we played small Black Powder game with Damian in Bolter.pl. Typically Black Powder games looks better with many batallions of infantry and regiments of cavalry formed in brigades. Today we played equal forces of infatry brigade composed of two infantry batallions each plus battery of artillery attached. There were also brigade of cavalry composed of one regiment on each side.

  • Russians arrived first and one one failed orders.
  • Then British and soldiers from Hannover arrived.
  • British cavalry crossed river when Polish cavalry regiments stopped they move befor the ford.
  • British cavalry charged Russian 1st batallion, so Russians formed square.
  • Round later orders were issued to form attack column and bayonnet charge.
  • Hannover infantry bravely stood they ground.
  • Joined by British hussars they broke Russians.
  • Artillery shoot at cavalry, but loses among the British were too low, to broke them.
  • Another Russians left the field.
  • Everyone shooting at uhlans and Russian infantry.
  • Russian brigade was routed by Damian’s force.

Summary:
– it’s nice format to play, still few more batallions and it could be even better.
– good occasion to meet some friends and talk about other systems.
– I realized that my top three systems for bigger games are:
1. Warhammer Fantasy Battle 4-7th editions.
2. Black Powder.
3. Bolt Actions.
– for skirmish I’m not sure, but probably:
1. Sharp Practice.
2. wish to play Mordheim or Warheim as I like Warhammer world (thank you old team from Games Workshop).
3. wish to came back to Fallout Wasteland Warfare.

 

Black Powder: Civil war Sobota, Sier 14 2021

Today we played our monthly game in Black Powder, one one side was Arek with British and Portugal, on the other were Bartek, Tomek and me with British and Russians. So in someway it was civil war beetwen British .

  • Both forces deployed, without Russian brigade.
  • Tomek’s British.
  • Bartek’s British and first battalion of Russians which arrived moment ago.
  • Arek’s British advanced toward Tomek’s line.
  • View from our left flank.
  • Portuguese advanced forward…
  • … and started shooting.
  • View from right flank. Portuguese cavalry doing outflanking maneuver.
  • In the middle both sides started shooting.
  • More Russians arrived, jet they doesn’t wanted to perform orders.
  • Portuguese advanced to fight British from front and Russians on flank.
  • What is on this map? I don’t understand this strange symbols, do they know cyrillica?
  • Fight for small shrine in the center. British infantry charged on flank by Portuguese cavalry.
  • British infantry repelled in hand to hand combat Portuguese cavalry.
  • Then started shooting at them.
  • In the middle Portuguese unit came close to British and continued firing.
  • Finally Polish uhlans understood order and charged…
  • … but enemy was ready to…
  • …
  • British against Portuguese cavalry.
  • But enemy formation formed square with final result of uhlans turn back.
  • Uhlans managed to retreat.
  • British close to brok Portugal cavalry.
  • Portugal cannons hiding behind trees.
  • Another uhlans charge and again retreat.
  • British infantry won against cavalry.
  • Another Biritish brigade of Arek broken.
  • Portuguese remain unbroken.
  • Bartek’s brigade is also marching off the field.
  • Brave Portuguese.

Summary:
– my artillery studied maps off the field for whole time.
– it was great game – usually there were more generals and bigger table.
– one of those big battles with all models painted.
– need to paint another officer group, to make separate cavalry regiment.
– thank you everyone for game.

 

Black Powder: Austria vs Russia, somewhere in Galizia Piątek, Lip 23 2021

Today we played small, fast game in Black Powder with Marian from Maniexite – direct link to his Austrians is here. He played 6th army corps of Hiller,
2nd division of Kottulinski:
– Hoffmeister’s brigade, 31st pulk of Bieniowskis Hungarian infantry.
– Wallmoden’s brigade, 7th pulk of Liechtensteins hussars, 8th pulk of Kienmayers hussars, half battery of 6th pounders guns.
Reserve corps of Liechtenstein:
– 2nd division of Prochaszkas grenadiers, brigade Steyrer composed of Legrad grenadiers from 9, 55 i 56 infantry pulks.
4th army corps of Rozenberg:
– 4th column of Bartenstein, Newstädters brigade, 9th pulk of Czartoryskis German infantry (Galizien).
Awangards of Klenau:
– 1st Jagers batallion.

My Russians were composed of three batallions of infantry from modern day eastern Poland and Bialorussia (former territories of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth), Polish Uhlans in Tzar service and battery of cannons.

We played in centre of Wrocław – Bolter.pl, thank you for table and terrains.

  • First and only – I started game and only one batallion arrived – at least they officers read map correctly.
  • Marian’s hussars arrived – it’s small unit.
  • Austrians understood orders and read maps correctly.
  • All the Austrians came to the table, with hussars galloping on both flanks.
  • I guess that the others missed a road, where are they?
  • The rest of Russian brigade arrived moment later, on my second turn.
  • Uhlans got only one sucess when orders were give, – so they bravely galloped in column.
  • Most of Austrians were also marching.
  • Hussars on another flank.
  • Russian infantry succesfully reformed into attack columns.
  • Hussars charge meet Polish Uhlans countercharge.
  • And hussars retreated from battle field.
  • Russian infantry confused about execute the orders.
  • Austrians grenadiers came on the shoot distance.
  • One of the Russians battalions rushed toward enemies, but the other two did not heard orders and stood waiting and watching.
  • Bayonnets fixed in the middle.
  • Urah!
  • Ready, aim, fire, repeat!
  • Brave Russian batallion defeated after it was broken in hand to hand combat.
  • Uhlans without order were staying near the village and talking about they last combat.
  • Unhapilly infantry started shooting at Uhlans, then one unit did not understood order and marched to the left.
  • Austrian infantry are coming.
  • Austrian leader with his staff.
  • Uhlans left the field after several of them fell down.
  • Russians shaken or disordered tried to hold they ground.
  • Grape-shoot ready, fire!
  • Austrian unit after suffering few grape-shoots left the field.
  • Situation is not good but still we fight for Tsar.
  • Brutal hand to hand unit started, when Marian’s large unit charged Marian’s unit in my service.
  • As most of Russian unit’s were shaken – brigade started retreat under of cover of valiant battery of cannons.
  • That’s the end. Austrian took control over road and village.

Summary:
– it was great, fast game of forces composed of one brigade per side – this game is great in big battles as well as in smaller ones.
– as Marian said many times – forces many times weren’t equal – we weren’t sure if this time they were – it’s observation after the battle. But everyone can imagine 300 of Spartans against much more Persians, Wohlynian cavalry brigade fighting against German panzers during 1939′, defense of Paris against Vikings, battle of Vienna 1683 were besieged capital of Austria held until release force of Poland, German states and Austria itself released city from the siege, Rohan warriors defending Helms Deep, Gotrek and Felix fighting to the last goblin – forces weren’t equal many times. Our history or fantasy – doesn’t matter. Battles weren’t equal. Thank you Marian for those words.
– I will try in the future write something more about this system – at least about orders, as this is that kind of game – when you give order to batallion or brigade you need to tell – march to the crossroads with a chapel, reform into battle column and march to bridge – if you fail, unit can read map and say – that village is not exist, are we on the appropriate road?

Black Powder: Battle of many nations Niedziela, Lip 18 2021

Today we played a battle which we play monthly – big battle with many participants – there were two Russian brigades my and Michał, Marian’s Austrian brigade, British brigade of Bartosz and on the other side French brigades of Mikołaj, Gargamel’s Italian brigade and Spanish brigade of Grzegorze. Thank you Bolter.pl for terrains and place we played. Our brigades started marching on the roads – each player came from different direction. There were three sides of conflict – Austria and Russia, United Kingdom and Spain and French with Italy. There were also Krzysiek as gamekeeper.

  • From bottom – on right Russians, then tin the middle Italians, after them on left British. On the top left Spanish, in the Middle Austrians and on top left French.
  • Russian brigades arrived.
  • Austrians came too.
  • British advanced.
  • Uhlans scouting area.
  • When Russians marched forward to the crossroads, Italians crossed bridge using one batallion, the other one took objective – which was farm animals.
  • Italian batallion took animals.
  • Uhlans charged by Spanish counter charged and won. In the middle Austrians took positions to the front and also left and right flank.
  • French cavalry arrived.
  • Uhlans galloped after Spanish cavalry fled.
  • Battle for the bridge started, also Russian on north realized that Spanish took a village.
  • The last action of uhlans, defeating Spanish cavalry – then they started reading map and squabling.
  • British valiantrly fighting against French.
  • Austrians took cavalry charge in they flank.
  • One of the Austrian batallion started shooting on fortified Spanish.
  • French cavalry in action.
  • Russian artillery started shooting on the Spanish inside village.
  • That way! No that way – this village is not so big on the map. I guess that four rounds of game I failed giving any order to move.
  • Austrians repelled French cavalry and waiting for infantry. Clash for a bridge going on.
  • British standing against French.
  • Battle for a bridge going on, one Italian batallion was broken.
  • Russians crossed bridge, another Russian brigade charged Spanish fortified in the village.
  • French fighting with English and Austrians.
  • Heavy hand to hand combat going on.
  • French surrounded by British.
  • Russians crossed a bridge – Italians left with farm animals.
  • Fight beetwen Austrians and French.
  • My third batallion stayed there due to a problems with issuing orders.
  • Heavy fighting going on.
  • British close to a farm.
  • Russians came too late, still crossed a bridge.
  • Hand to hand combat beetwen Austrians and French.
  • Generally end of battle with a score: Draw.
  • Need to learn how to roll low on orders. My brigade was staying for four turns at least.

Summary:
– It was great game, thanks everyone – will try to update some informations about this battle soon.
– Next time need to split my brigade on two – one composed of infantry and another one of cavalry, as I had all time issues with giving order. Need to paint more cavalry – not sure if I can do it, I have a month.

🇵🇱 Dzisiaj zagraliśmy z Marianem z Maniexite partię w Bolter.pl. Dzięki Rafałowi i Piotrkowi za pomoc przy przygotowaniu terenów. Jak zawsze i w każdych warunkach – dobra gra.

🇬🇧 Today we played with Marian from Maniexite a game in Bolter.pl. Thank you Rafał and Piotr for help with terrains. Any time, any way – good game.

🇵🇱 Podsumowanie:
– Szybka i przyjemna gra, wygrana przez austriacką armię Mariana.
– Utrata mojego głównego batalionu nastąpiła zdecydowanie zbyt szybko.

Black Powder: Hold the ground! (EN🇬🇧/PL🇵🇱) Sobota, Czer 26 2021 

Black Powder - Napoleonic Wars and French and Italia and Neapol and Polish and Russians and United Kingdom and Warlord Games and Württemberg tancreddebeauville 19:39

🇵🇱 Dzisiaj rozegraliśmy większą bitwę w Black Powder. W centrum wydarzeń znajdowały się dwa dwory – jednego broniły moje oddziały rosyjskie, a drugiego Włosi Gargamela. Po naszej stronie walczyły również dwa kontyngenty brytyjskie dowodzone przez Damiana i Tomka. Naprzeciw stanęli Francuzi Mariana, Wirtemberczycy Krisa oraz Neapolitańczycy i Wirzburczycy Bartka. Ostatecznie nie pamiętam już dokładnie, jak rozstrzygnęły się losy obu dworów.

🇬🇧 Today we played a larger Black Powder battle. Two manor houses were at the centre of the action – one defended by my Russians and the other by Gargamel’s Italians. Fighting alongside us were the two British contingents commanded by Damian and Tomek. On the opposing side stood Marian’s French, Kris’s Württembergers, and Bartek’s Neapolitans and Würzburgers. In the end, I do not clearly remember how the fate of the manor houses was decided.

🇵🇱 Podsumowanie:
– Black Powder to naprawdę świetna gra – dzięki mojemu dealerowi od bitewniaków, Marianowi, wkręciłem się na dobre, choć niestety z malowaniem nie idzie mi już tak szybko. Na przeszkodzie stoi niestety Cyberpunk 2077.
– Myślę, że mamy szansę zbudować świetną społeczność wokół wszystkich systemów związanych z epoką Black Powder – mam na myśli Black Powder, Sharp Practice i podobne gry.
– Od Bartka wiemy, że w Pradze istnieje lokalna społeczność grająca w Black Powder; mam nadzieję, że uda nam się z nimi nawiązać kontakt.
– Dzięki Rafałowi za tereny i Bolter.pl za udostępnienie miejsca do gry.
– Dzięki Bartkowi, Damianowi, Grześkowi, Krzyśkowi, Marianowi i Tomkowi za świetną grę.
– Bistro Narożnik ma świetne pierogi – to mój ulubiony lokal na Nadodrzu we Wrocławiu. Dobrze, że przetrwał tę całą „plandemię”.
– Chcę wspierać nasze hobby we Wrocławiu – Bolter.pl, Planszóweczkę.pl, Adę i Agę. Gdziekolwiek będziemy grać, będę to dopisywał pod raportem. Brakuje mi Centrum Gier Bitewnych, starego Barda i Sfana, ale pojawiły się ich godne zastępstwa.

– Black Powder is really nice game, thank you to my game dealer Marian – I’m involved, jet not so fast with painting – unhapilly there is Cyberpunk 2077 which is blocker.
-I guess that we have a chance to build great community in all systems related to Black Powder era – I mean Black Powder, Sharp Practice etc.
– from Bartek we know, that in Praga there is local community playing Black Powder, hope we can find a contact with them.

– Bistro Narożnik have great dumplings – they are my favourite pub on Nadodrze in Wrocław. Great that they survived plandemy.
– I want to support our hobby in Wrocław – Bolter.pl, Planszoweczka.pl, Ada i Aga – whenever we will play, I will add it under raport. I miss Centrum Gier Bitewnych, old Bard and Sfan, but they got great replacement.
