Hi friends!

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas because God was born – in Polish it’s Wesołych Świąt Bożego Narodzenia. We live in different countries and are of different nationalities, but this is something in common for many people around the world – as Europeans are living on all the continents (both Americas, Australia, New Zealand) and we share the same Latin and Greek traditions, not to forget Ethiopians and Christians among Afro-Americans, Asians (my belowed Philippines). We are split beetwen different Christian churches – Catholic, Orthodox (they celebrates them later), Protestants and others. Some of us are atheists or agnostics or others ( I believe that God left us and he will came back), still celebrating those family Christmas.

As Christmas is typically Christian (not winter holidays as some notable people said) – I want to wish everyone happiness, health, normality, peace and wealth for every human on the Earth – for fellow Christians, Jews, Muslims, people of „The Book”, to Hinduists, Taoists, Zoroastrianists, Pagans and every other religion I might have missed! I wish everything the best for atheists!

I wish peace for Ukraine, for Persia, for Palestinians, for ppl in African countries, for all people normality from time before plandemy! I wish also normality beetwen Poland and Bialorussia and Russia – as I have Bialorussian and Russian friends and both countries can grown having normal contacts – trade, exhange, culture, traveling – my heart is warm to eastern nations!

For fellow gamers I wish painted armies, good games and international contacts!

The most beautiful Polish Christmas carol, wrote by Franciszek Karpiński, sponsored by Elżbieta Lubomirska – Polish noblewomen. This Christmas carol was created, when Commonwealth was over, divided beetwen three powerful neighbours, but will of Poles to have they country remained and she reborn 123 years later.

Germanic Christmas, my grandmother Eleonora I never meet was Austrian or German – dispute about her is a struggle beetwen my dad and his sister, anyway wish Austrians and Germans normality in they countries! Thank you Janika Gross for recommending this song 🙂 .

Russia – I have many friends who are Russians and to one I losed my heart or mind (she lives in Moscow) – wish normality for Poles and Russians beetwen our countries! Thank you Egor!

WFB 7th: Miscasts evening for everyone! Czwartek, Gru 16 2021

Today with Alessandro we played in 7th edition of WFB – it was a struggle beetwen loyal allies Empire and Kislev and horde of greenskins from east. We played on 2250 points. We played pitched battle, bloody one.

  • Knights Panthers with they grandmaster Heinrich Pobożny (the Pious).
  • Long line of Kislev Ungol horse archers.
  • Hochland handgunners, pistoliers and artillery.
  • Kislevites performing as archers. Behind some brave Kislev Winged Hussars from Wrotizla stanitsa.
  • Those big, ugly and you don’t want to meet them on the street during a night.
  • Battle line ready for a clash.
  • Trolls, boar boyz, giant – it looks like it will be interesting battle.
  • Steam Tank advanced, along with fire from everything they managed to panic boar boyz.
  • Left flank of greenskins horde advanced.
  • Big and stupid – but they ask – do you have a problem, yyyyy?
  • Giant thinking?
  • Then I understood what Orcossandro want to do.
  • Steam Tank took charge.
  • Ehh, after one solution from Alessandro I play with Empire and Kislev more aggresive – still in some way as my first army – Bretonnia.
  • Winged Lancers prayed to Ursin, Tor and Dazh – in the name of free world they charged.
  • Empire and Kislev cavalry advanced bravely to wipe out mortal enemy.
  • Kislev rangers retreat from nasty trolls.
  • As one of the wizards was taken back, saved by Ranald (heroes do not die) handgunners shoot volley after volley.
  • Winged Lancers after breaking enemy where charged on the flank – this hateful magic of greenskins made this against Gods of Old World panthenon.
  • Knights Panthers in the name of elector count Boris Todbringer lowered the lances.
  • Steam Tank sacrifeced for stopping giant for a vile – dont know what I did bad.
  • Kislevites fought to death.
  • Kislev Winged Lancers unit was destroyed as a unit.
  • Fire at will said Hans Baurer – another round of bullets to the trolls.
  • Brave Ungols did not give up.
  • Knights Panthers lead by Heinrich charged trolls to send them back to Gork and Mork.
  • Karl – please give me some gunpowder – please, not to much.
  • Cannonball hat chariot whell and finished enemy.
  • Vomiting wasn’t succesfull and trolls feeling enemy in clean suits left fighting – War Banner was above them – spliting on different models was mistake.
  • For the glory of Middenheim!
  • Guys, please prepare some nails and other stuff!
  • Empire handgunenrs and Kislev archers shoot on giant – yes, there are no wizard – third one losed to miscast.
  • Lone artillerist held wolf riders.
  • This time we didn’t count points. It was a cruel battle for both sides.

Summary:
– first turn Alessandro losed his shaman for a miscast, then in following turns I losed both of my own wizards.
– Steam Tank took 8 wounds from Giant on turn 3 or 4, anyway, I tried to play offensive.
– I know that it was stupid to take banner into light cavalry, but I love model.
– generally both sides losed so much, we didn’t count, probably something beetwen Draw to Minor Victory.
– to be sure, if you live in Wrocław or want to come there, we can play with you in WFB – we play Italian-Polish games – but we want’s there everyone who wants to play!

I wouldn listen to my Polish language or German – as it is there, or Russian – I love how those languages sounds.



 

Bolt Action: Talvisota #2 – fighting pockets Środa, Gru 15 2021 

Armia Czerwona and Bolt Action and Bolter.pl and Finlandia and IPN and Warlord Games tancreddebeauville 23:14

Today we played second game in our Winter War campaing of 1939′ – Soviet troops were advancing into Finnland, but brave Finns were preparing ambush – Soviet troops were separated in several pockets called in Finish „motti”. Yes, you can see there one big beast – KV-1 tank – along prototypes single tank was used for tests.

Main target for Red Army was to free they units from pockets and go from one side of the table to the other along heavily forested road. Soviet tanks in pockets have fuel issues, the trucks are objectives to be destroyed by Finns.

Our sponsor is Institute of National Remembrance called shortly IPN (Instytut Pamięci Narodowej).

We played in Bolter, Wrocław, Poland – we are open to play with ppl who speak English – Germans, Russians, Czechs and everyone generally 😉 . I invited my Russian friend, but he was invited by his colleagues to a bowl.

  • Moment before forest started moving. Below are Soviet reinforcements.
  • Thank you Daniel for organising event.

  • A tree on the road, what is going on?
  • Soviet reinforcements – they have fuel.
  • Ivan, I hear something, did you?
  • Forest started moving.
  • Last Soviet pocket.
  • That wood is moving Sasha, look!
  • Finnish skii troops as well as infantry advanced on unprepared Soviets.
  • Comrades – our brothers in arms wait for us!
  • Soviet politruk ordered his squads to clear forest from capitalistic elements.
  • Finns soldiers ready to die in the name of they small patria.
  • Shooting beetwen both sides.
  • First pocket was almost freed.
  • Boom, Finns managed to destroy one supply ZiS-6 truck, other squads tried to throw Molotov coctail on the flame tank, without success jet.
  • Soviets arrived and then encircled Finns.
  • More Finns with molotov coctails arrived.
  • Bravely last stand gave some time for the other Finns units.
  • Knock, knock – we have moonshine!
  • That board saw many cruel things, as „war, war never change” (Fallout).
  • For Mannerheim, for our nation advance!
  • Strong in number Soviet column broke Finns resistance.
  • Going forward but with many buring tanks along they route.
  • Finally one brave soldier put appropriate bottle on the T-28. The Finns retreat back into the forest, when more and more Soviets arrived on the hill.
  • After all, Red Army released two of three pockets.
  • In historical contest for me both flags should be there, as we should remember past to build better future.

Summary:
– after all it was great to find common sense in playing again Bolt Action, as it’s really great game from Warlord Games, especially playing such events.
– for me we should remember soldiers of both sides, all the time I think that most of them could be a friends in normal times, of course we should remember who was invader and why.

WFB 7th: Empire and Kislev vs hungry Ogres Niedziela, Gru 12 2021

Today we played standard pitched battle on 2000 points.

  • Both armies prepared – Kriss won initiative and give me a chance to start first turn.
  • Wizards from Lore of Beast and Lore of Fire.
  • Again I played this army as I played with Bretonnia.
  • First loses among Kislev Winged Lancers, losed unit of Empire pistoliers.
  • With blocked line of sight I charged ogre lord – won combat – but he passed break test and bravely stood.
  • I managed to take three wounds from giant, unhapilly he was angry after that and run on my handgunners.
  • Rhinos charged Knights Panther.
  • More units fighting against Winged Lancers.
  • Winged Lancers destroyed, I charged on flanks with light cavalry.
  • Giant routed handgunners.
  • Dwarf mercenaries charged ogre tyrant in a desperate act to stop him.
  • Retreat!
  • We finished game after around 4 turns – as we don’t have more time.

Summary:
– has to paint some more infantry, war machines – for 2000 points I have too much cavalry.
– need to paint 10-15 Dwarfs, they seem to be great unit.

Bolt Action: Talvisota – Winter War #1 Środa, Gru 8 2021 

Armia Czerwona and Bolt Action and Finlandia and Warlord Games tancreddebeauville 23:35

Today in Bolter, Wrocław, PL we played first scenario covering Winter War, when Soviet Union invaded small but brave land of Finns. IPN (Instytut Pamięci Narodowej in eng. Institute of National Remembrance) took patronage over this event – here is they Wrocław page.

After taking before half of Poland IInd Republic along with Nazi Germany and Slovakia, Soviet Union turn they eyes onto Finland – sparsely populated and heavily forested country which border was 30 kilometers from Leningrad (all the time Sankt Petersburg), too close for Soviet officials – more about it here: Winter War 1939-1940.

  • Finnish troops preparing for incomming tank assault of Red Army.
  • 37 mm Bofors antitank gun hidden on the hill.
  • Soviet column advanced toward Finns positions.
  • Mortar started shooting at our medium machine gun.
  • BA-6 and T-26 with flame thrower bravely moved forward.
  • We lost one bunker from T-28 howitzer shell, then enemy losed they armoured car from some well thrown bottle.
  • Brave Finns assaulted first tank on right flank.
  • Bofors managed to pin down T-28.
  • On our left flank Soviet advanced.
  • More Finns come from the forest to assault Soviet tanks with molotov coctails.
  • On left flank Soviet advanced forward with loses of men and equipment.
  • First tank burn on right flank.
  • Burning tanks on left flank.
  • T-28 staying on crossroads for most of the game.
  • Another thank losed on right flank.
  • Succesful hit from mortar finally eliminated our Bofors.
  • Ski troops arrived on flank.
  • All tank burns on right flank.
  • Beautiful scenery.

Summary:
– it was interesting battle and as part of campaing will be continued.
– Finns held Soviet advance destroying most of the vehicles.
– first game in Bolt Action for a long time of absence.
– Hope that next time will remember all names of co-players.

WFB 7th: dark Sunday for Bretonnians Niedziela, List 28 2021 

7th and Bretonnia and Games Workshop and Orcs&Goblins and Warhammer tancreddebeauville 21:05

Today we played with Alessandro battle on 2250 points per side. At least it was some lesson taken by me. This was first battle when I took trebuchet and it was shooting better than my Empire artillery – it was miracle, that guessing and scatter dices were working well both with many hits.

  • I have to paint this trebuchet.
  • Orcs moved, so moved to welcome them too.
  • On 2nd turn of greenskins I lost paladin – I thought he is save behind obstacle – he wasn’t, as goblins had Waagh and moved more.
  • Men at arms fled as well as archers.
  • Many screens and three 2nd level wizards worked well on me.
  • Mistress of Marsh – total power with three sixes.
  • Stayin on flank and waiting for they moment.
  • One more screen in front of KoTR.
  • One screen less and then…
  • … brave pegasus knight unit was destroyed and KoTR panicked, never been seen on this field again.
  • Knowing that orc boar boyz with black orc big boss is a source of problems Grail Knights regrouped.
  • Four Grail Knights were taken by bolt thrower.
  • Remaining Grail Knights charged to move away.
  • Were charged on flank, but held for some time.
  • Orcs charged on flank – I had hope, that Ranald will be with them – they loose by one point and fled, pursude by goblins.
  • Duc fled the field to prepare his army better to next battle.

Summary:
– need to update this list with more archers, probably one small unit of knights, take one more wizard instead of paladin (I thought about taking even 3 2nd lvl wizards) – I will reduce units of men at arms to one unit.
– it was good game, at least I know that I need to change army composition a little bit.

 

WFB 7th: Bretonnians vs Skavens Sobota, List 13 2021 

7th and Bretonnia and Games Workshop and Skavens and Warhammer tancreddebeauville 19:09

Today we played with Marian on 1500 points per side. I could forget about that race exists – yeap, they are no legend those rat beastmens.

  • Both armies prepared to battle.
  • Among them was something I with had always problems.
  • Abomination ran forward – really high score on 3d6’s.
  • Grail Knight charged abomination…
  • and killed it. Attack of warhorse was deciding – last wound was taken by brave Bretonnian stallion.
  • Don’t like to enter combat with half unit of Knights of the Realm.
  • Grail Knights covering flank of friendly unit.
  • Archers advance, pegasus knights charged jezzail team.
  • Grail Knights took charge of Skaven elite Stormvermin unit and defeated them, regrouped and charged other unit to protect KoTR unit…
  • at the end KoTR unit was broken in hand to hand combat and fled – did not rally before end of game.

Summary:
– at least now I know one more thing – thank you Marian.
– battle was if we counted it well minor victory for Skavens.

 

WFB 7th: Bretonnians vs Orcs&Goblins Piątek, List 12 2021 

7th and Bretonnia and Games Workshop and Orcs&Goblins and Warhammer tancreddebeauville 19:24

Today with Alessandro we played in Bolter battle for 1500 points per side – I took my first army I ever started on 1997′ and my „enemy” took also old Orc&Goblin army. Compositions of armies were:

Bretonnians:
– 8 Knights of the Realm with Banner of Chalons (full command group) lead by paladin baron Roger (Morning Star of Fracasse and Virtue of Noble Disdain),
– 16 archers (full command group),
– 5 mounted squires,
– 3 pegasus knights (musician),
– 7 Grail Knights with Banner of Defence (full command group) lead by paladin duc Tancred (Grail Vow, Lance of Artois, Virtue of Confidence), Melisanda damsel of the Lady lvl 2 (2x Dispel Scroll),
– battle standard bearer Louis (Grail Vow, Sword of Might, Gromril Great Helm).

Orcs&Goblins:
– 2 units of 29x Night Goblins (including night goblin fanatic – each 3 of them),
– 3 units of 5x goblin wolf riders,
– 5 Savage Orc Boar Boys,
– 9 Orc Boar Boys Big Uns with magic banner (full command group) lead by unknown black orc big boss (with magic weapon and enchanted item),
– Orc Chariot.
– 2 goblin shamans – both had two scrolls and one had arcane item (one of them was on wolf).

  • As Bretonnians prayed, first turn belonged to greenskins.
  • First turn and one Grail Knight less.
  • Night Goblins in front of main units.
  • Battle standard was struck with magic – D6 – 2 hits with S 6 – I had save on 5, re-roll on 5 and ward on 5 – what can go wrong 😀 ?
  • Archers managed to took some goblin wolf riders and spread panic among them.
  • Mounted squires fled from savage orcs charge.
  • Archers fled after Night Goblin charge…
  • …to rally soon after.
  • Pegasus knights managed to charge Savage Orcs flank…
  • and then pursue them.
  • Orc Boar Boys clashed with Knights of the Realm and broke them in combat… they were destroyed by Night Goblin Fanatic, which was on they retreat way.
  • Pegasus Knights managed to pursue chariot, while remntants of Grail Knights charged.
  • Goblin wolf riders charged archers…
  • … but archers managed to held down (that morale test on two 1’s).
  • Brave charge of fast cavalry – no one suffered wounds.
  • Archers pursued enemy (and were hit by fanatic who killed they shaman moment before).
  • In this moment battle should end as I did one big mistake (it was 6th turn of Greenskins).

Summary:
– we had score of 1110 for me and 1125 for Alessandro – but it could be more by (I guess that Grail Knights wouldn’t held orc boar boys) 654. So it was good victory for Greenskins – generally still it was great game for me (bloodbath).
– Immune to Psychology – unit will not flee from enemy charge (first time fled – shame on me, now I have to build Grail Chapel for the such shame thing I did, we both forgot about this rule).
– at least one more lesson taken by mistake.

 

WFB 7th: A dispute beetwen Bretonnians and Dwarfs Sobota, List 6 2021 

7th and Bretonnia and Dwarfs and Games Workshop and Warhammer tancreddebeauville 19:44

This Saturday we played with Alessandro with 1500 points limit – this time I took Bretonnians and Alessandro took Dwarfs. Bolter provide us with place for our game – thank you Piotrek for fast response! In the same time was Middle Earth tournament – I hope to play on it someday.

  • Alessandro managed to deploy first – but I prayed to the Lady, so first turn belonged to Dwarfs.
  • Bretonnian centre composed of Knighs of the Realm (paladin and battle standard bearer), archers and Grail Knights (paladin, damsel 2 level).
  • Left flank.
  • 1st turn of Dwarfs. One of the pegasus knights was wounded.
  • Then my 1st turn – all army moved forward.
  • Archers moved 4″ and shoot at flame cannon – eliminating two crewmen.
  • On 2nd turn I tried to charge – only pegasus knights manage to do this. Then Slayers moved in centre. 2nd turn of Dwarfs. Mounted Yeoman said some bad words about slayer mother to distrubt him.
  • On 3rd turn slayers charged on flank – hapilly before archers took two of them and they had one combat result less.
  • Grail Knights charged on Bretonnian turn 3rd.
  • Dwarf turn 4th was shooting, moving and melee.
  • Flame cannon wounded two archers and the rest of them fled. It was turn 4th of Dwarfs.
  • Bolt Throwers tried to kill Grail Knights, but power of the Lady was too strong.
  • Dwarfs 5th round
  • Regroup of Grail Knights.
  • O turn 5th Grail Knights took one bolt thrower and charged another one.
  • Lone slayer waiting on the hill. Last of the pegasus knights was catched by Dwarf crossbowmen.
  • I guess that slayer hero charged me on 6th and took down one of the holy knights.
  • During challenge Bretonnian paladin Tancred de Beauville managed to wound slayer once…
  • and his warhorse finished him (6 followed by 6).

Summary:
– first time after some months I took Bretonnia, first time took Lance of Artois and one more Virtue.
– it was a Draw as Alessandro destroyed 619 points from my army and I destroyed 633,5.
– it was great evening game – usually I don’t play on 15, but this time I realized: Why not?

Black Powder: Battle for a river crossing Sobota, Paźdź 30 2021 

Black Powder - Napoleonic Wars and French and Polish and Russians and United Kingdom and Warlord Games tancreddebeauville 19:30

Today in Wrocław we played our monthly Black Powder game. Today we played Great Britain against unusual alliance of France and Russian Empire. Today British side focused on crossing river (cross it with 13 infantry battalions/cavalry regiments) in four places (two bridges and two fords), French and Russian tried to stop them.

  • Two bridges, in addition there were two fords – one on far left and other on far right.
  • HQ of allies inside monastery tower.
  • British are coming!
  • Russians with supporting French on right flank.
  • Left flank belonged to French, middle belonged to French plus cavalry reserve (including Polish uhlans on tsar service).
  • French marching.
  • Time to start.
  • French send screen of skirmishers ahead of main units.
  • More and more soldiers of the British Crown.
  • When right flank had problems with understanding orders, middle and left flank on allies side moved. Artillery took hill and hid behind a fence.
  • Russian artillery got orders to shoot British battery on the other side of the river.
  • British crossed bridge in the fron of Russians.
  • French moved into the forest.
  • HQ send small regiments of light cavalry to aid Russians and French.
  • British crossed also other bridge. French tries to send them back.
  • More British in front of Russian flank.
  • Charge on bayonnets with supporting charge of uhlans on the flank.
  • Both lines shooting they opponents.
  • British also want to pass river by the ford.
  • Few units of French-Russians alliance were broken and left field .
  • Hussars are coming.
  • Uhlans charged unit in it rear and unhappily were broken and fled.
  • Taking position to shoot on the flank of hussars.
  • The end.
  • Russian brigade remained unbroken with maybe some more French.
  • Something is coming back probably?

Summary:
– again great game played in Bolter.pl.
