WFB: Abandoned wizard tower Sobota, Sier 28 2021 

7th and Empire and Games Workshop and Ogres and Orcs&Goblins and Warhammer and WROhammer tancreddebeauville 16:45

Today we played typical Border Patrol (GW rules) with Alessandro and Krzysztof on 500 points. First game was played beetwen Alessandro Night Goblins vs Krzystof Ogres, second game was played beetwen my Empire and Krzysztof Ogres. I tried to make some scenario, so we agreed that the tower belonged to wizard who perished long time ago. Of course both sides want’s the tower – units 6′ from tower were Immune to Panic.

  • Ogres saw many walking meat.
  • Krzysiek ogres are still work in progress, they look better and better.
  • Night goblins moved up to the obstacle.
  • Ogres moved.
  • Suprise, night goblin fanatics released!
  • Health path in front of Ogres.
  • Ogres charged…
  • and night goblins fled to the forest.
  • One step back from those green madness.
  • Night goblins rallied.
  • But again were charged by Ogres.
  • Sounds like a dinner.
  • One of those funniest unit in WFB, along squigg hoppers and snotling pump wagon. Of course it’s also deadly, especially when hitting armoured knights.
  • Gnoblars in the forest and ogres around tower.
  • Failed charge of ogre gunner.
  • Night Goblin took forest from gnoblar hands. Last gnoblars hiden beetwen night goblins.
  • Second battle. Those Dwarfs were used as Empire Swordsmen.
  • Ogres battle line.
  • I saw ogre, do I?
  • Next time I will take dwarfs as allies, not as proxy for swordsmen.
  • Swordsmen fled as charge reaction.
  • Ogres triumph.
  • Hochland pistoliers managed to take down one of the shooters (he was on last wound, as they wounded themselfs moment before).
  • Gnoblars charged Knights Panther on the flank and won by one point.
  • Handgunners welcomed ogres with rain of bullets, but fled in panic after round of combat.
  • Swordsmen managed to won over one ogre shooter.
  • Knights Panthers rallied and charged back.
  • Ogres looking for loot and food.
  • Last charge – ogres on Knights Panthers.
  • The end. I guess it was draw – magic tower still wait’s for someone who will open it.

Summary:
– games on small points can be really nice and fast as well.
– next time we will play on something more, like one thousand points. Maybe I will write some scenario, still it depends of how many of us will be interested.

 

WFB: Border Patrol on 7th edition Sobota, Sier 21 2021 

7th and Bretonnia and Ogres and Orcs&Goblins and Warhammer and WROhammer tancreddebeauville 18:28

Today with Alessandro and Krzysiek we played Border Patrol on 7th edition of WFB. Alessandro played with band of Orcs & Goblins, Krzysiek with always hungry Ogres and I played noble Bretonnians with many common folk. In something up to three hours we played four games. Today games we played in Planszóweczka in Astra. We played with objective – it was taking church or defend it, but during games no one cared.

  • First game played beetwen Alessandro and Krzysiek.
  • Chariot managed to kill one ogr with „da shotta”.
  • Ogres march forward, with gnoblars going next to them.
  • Waagh – orc’s moved forward and charged ogres. Behing goblin fanatic started his dance with ball in his hand.
  • After hand to hand ogres retreat, but rallied.
  • One more face to face combat.
  • Ogre standar fled the field with emtpy stomach.
  • Last of gnoblars…
  • … and ogres left the field.
  • Second game was played beetwen me and Alessandro.
  • My first round was move forward.
  • Squires – who want’s to be promoted to a knight? Dirty job before you, those goblins are special ones!
  • Archers managed to score successful wound on Night Goblin fanatic.
  • Orc’s successfully charged Knights of the Realm, but knights hold on.
  • Men at arms joined noble lords in combat. The battle was won by Bretonnians.
  • Third game, me against Krzysiek.
  • Just move.
  • Then charge and the game was over, as main unit was catched and the other paniced. So…
  • we played fourth game with Krzysiek. Bretonnian archers after several loses left the field.
  • Squires moved around the flank.
  • Knights lowering they lances…
  • fled from ogre charges as they were overcome by fear.
  • Squires managed to eliminate five gnoblars.
  • Hurry up.
  • Pursuers galloped into…
  • Ogres.
  • Last try, knights charged ogres,
  • But did not broke them in combat.
  • More ogres arrived…
  • and last Bretonnians left the field.

Summary:
– I have cursed rolls for knights armour saves, especially for my enemies.
– we will organize it again, maybe in form of small campaign. Need to look on campaigns from 5th edition, maybe we should draw a map – not sure, never played other campaing than those from „Herohammer” era.
– 500 points is great amount to start playing WFB.
– we used revised rules for Border Patrol done by our friends Remo and Profi. Those rules are in Polish.

Black Powder: Civil war Sobota, Sier 14 2021 

Black Powder - Napoleonic Wars and Portugal and Russians and United Kingdom and Warlord Games tancreddebeauville 20:26

Today we played our monthly game in Black Powder, one one side was Arek with British and Portugal, on the other were Bartek, Tomek and me with British and Russians. So in someway it was civil war beetwen British .

  • Both forces deployed, without Russian brigade.
  • Tomek’s British.
  • Bartek’s British and first battalion of Russians which arrived moment ago.
  • Arek’s British advanced toward Tomek’s line.
  • View from our left flank.
  • Portuguese advanced forward…
  • … and started shooting.
  • View from right flank. Portuguese cavalry doing outflanking maneuver.
  • In the middle both sides started shooting.
  • More Russians arrived, jet they doesn’t wanted to perform orders.
  • Portuguese advanced to fight British from front and Russians on flank.
  • What is on this map? I don’t understand this strange symbols, do they know cyrillica?
  • Fight for small shrine in the center. British infantry charged on flank by Portuguese cavalry.
  • British infantry repelled in hand to hand combat Portuguese cavalry.
  • Then started shooting at them.
  • In the middle Portuguese unit came close to British and continued firing.
  • Finally Polish uhlans understood order and charged…
  • … but enemy was ready to…
  • …
  • British against Portuguese cavalry.
  • But enemy formation formed square with final result of uhlans turn back.
  • Uhlans managed to retreat.
  • British close to brok Portugal cavalry.
  • Portugal cannons hiding behind trees.
  • Another uhlans charge and again retreat.
  • British infantry won against cavalry.
  • Another Biritish brigade of Arek broken.
  • Portuguese remain unbroken.
  • Bartek’s brigade is also marching off the field.
  • Brave Portuguese.

Summary:
– my artillery studied maps off the field for whole time.
– it was great game – usually there were more generals and bigger table.
– one of those big battles with all models painted.
– need to paint another officer group, to make separate cavalry regiment.
– thank you everyone for game.

 

WFB: Empire and Kislev vs Chaos Warriors Czwartek, Sier 12 2021 

7th and Chaos Warriors and Classical Warhammer and Empire and Games Workshop and Kislev and Warhammer tancreddebeauville 21:18

Today we played with Tomek battle on 1250 points per side, using 7th edition rules. Tomek played Chaos Warriors and I was playing Empire and Kislev force.

  • Empire and Kislev.
  • Knights Panthers lead by their captain.
  • First turn belong to Empire – 6 vs 1 on rolling who is first.
  • This time cannon managed to destroy chariot.
  • Chaos spawn in it madness moved fastly forward.
  • Empire and Kislev light cavalry on flanks
  • Ungols tried to shoot down enemy beasts.
  • Leaving last living hound was mistake.
  • Pistoliers did the same on the other flank.
  • Spawn charged by knights survived first round of hand to hand combat and was joinded by marauders with flails.
  • Ungols horse archers declared retreat from Chaos knights. One last hound came to Winged lancers, smelling mear.
  • Knights Panters armour was too much for northmen – jet they were weakend by spell of Nurgle.
  • Cannon lost all his targets, as all were in combat.
  • Ungols managed to kill two Chaos Knights.
  • After killing Chaos hound lancers rolled too low and were charged by both – Chaos chariot (Dragon Ogre model) and Chaos Warriors.
  • Few turns later boyar leading unit heavily wounded left field on his loyal steed.
  • Situation on right flank was better than on left.
  • Pistoliers joined fight.
  • First Knight Panther losed in this combat.
  • Situation of handgunners doesn’t look well.
  • Knights Panther’s lowering they lances.
  • Handgunners from Bergsburg left field in panic.

Summary:
– it was our first game and first Tomek’s game after eight years.
– we played on smaller points and we agreed to play on at least 2,000 points next time.
– it was nice game and final result could be something around draw.

 

A journey to the north: beautiful Gdynia Wtorek, Sier 10 2021

Last Friday I took one more day to start my holidays (thank you Piotrek) to travel north, to city of my friends – Gdynia. I had to go on Friday, as I’m creature of night and have problems with waking in the early morning – plus travel from Wrocław to Gdynia by train long lasts five and half hour. I wanted to be fresh on tournament in Warhammer Fantasy Battle in Rumia next day. Those tournaments were making me tired twenty years ago, so now it cannot be better. I was there for three days and it was great travel. I can recommed Gdynia for everyone – it’s great Polish city and one of the youngest.

  • Bed & Breakfast Żeglarz – really nice place in Witomino.
  • Witomino, district for live – east to centre of Gdynia.
  • There so many green areas, not like in my belowed Wrocław.
  • There were events in the city – running, biking and probably something else. No runner was catched by my camera.
  • Sport school with mural.
  • Modernistic church and it tower.
  • Aww, model stopped me.
  • One of the main streets. My Bretonnians have the same liveries as Gdynia’s buses and trolleybuses.
  • Older building – remember that Gdynia is really new Polish city and has city rights from 10 February 1926, before Gdynia was village. Polish 2nd Republic had access to sea, but without harbor – Gdańsk was free city, but generally it was German.
  • Some modernistic and older buldings.
  • I love those city, it’s infrastructure.
  • HQ of Polish Navy.
  • I guess that this is dedicated to our Bałtyk Sea.
  • Everything we can do on the sea – there are trading aspects, fishing – don’t remember all.
  • Biggest sacrifice and spilled blood will become a living testimony to the existence at the Polish seaside. 20.09.1939 admiral Józef Unrug.
  • Modern building next to the harbor.
  • John Paul IInd was here.
  • Polish submarine Orzeł – still his fate is uknown to us.
  • Destroyer „ORP Błyskawica”.
  • Dar Pomorza – ship museum.
  • I guess it can be a way to meet Svetlana in Baltijsk – Russian city, still need to think about VISA to Russia.
  • Some touristic vessel stylized probably on a warship from XVI/XVII century.

  • Destroyer Błyskawica – for many years museum.
  • Dar Pomorza’s model.
  • Burza, Błyskawica, Grom, Wicher – Polish 2nd republic destroyers. Most of them were evacuated to Great Britain. Wicher fought valiantly during German invasion and was sunk near Hel on 3rd of Semptember 1939.
  • Błyskawica (Lighting bolt).
  • Magic gate to better world.
  • Cafe Strych – fisherman hut. Thank you Paweł for showing this place. We had great afterparty here – with ppl from Three Cities and Warsowia.
  • And the pub inside it called Cafe Strych.
  • They have crafts in great prize of 12,50 PLN.
  • It was build around 1890 – near coastline. Now coastline is far away from hut.
  • Going to the hotel.
  • Day later – Gdańsk Główny, where I meet friends who traveled on bikes all Polish coast .
  • Looks like part of fortifications from past.

 

WFB 6th: 3rd edition of Dragon in Rumia Niedziela, Sier 8 2021

On 7.08.2021 I participated in Dragon – event organized by friends from Gdynia in nearby town Rumia – norther Poland, are of Trójmiasto (Gdynia, Sopot, Gdańsk). We played on 1250 points, with all rules avaible for 6th edition (like Kislev Allied Contingent under 2,000 army lists from White Dwarfs etc.). It was worth to go out from safe zone of Wrocław and spend five and half hour in train to Gdynia – unhapilly there are no personal teleports – I wish one to Moscow and another one for such events 😉 .

  • First game with Janek Wood Elves.
  • Fast cavalry were great target for Wood Elves archers.
  • Tried to shoot down Wild Riders, without big succes.
  • Knights Panter held down center.
  • Hans, hurry up – shoot them with nails.
  • Crew took a charge, but were were wiped out in hand to hand combat.
  • Knighs Panthers announced charge, but Wood Elves reaction was to hid in the forest.
  • As Ungols reaction was to flee, Wild Riders in madness charged flank of Middenheim Knights.
  • Heavily armored knights managed to broke Wild Riders.
  • Not great hide out, as threemen saw them. It was end of first game: 12:8 for Jan.
  • Some view on the other tables.
  • Dogs of War army, I see there mercenaries from Araby, Dwarfs, Kislev and Ogres.
  • Classical Empire.
  • On the first plan Bretonnia against Tomb Kings.
  • Family photo of my Middeneim, Hochland and Kislev Wrotizla force.
  • Second game against Krzysiek Dwarfs.
  • I strongly believed that Panthers will break Dwarfs in combat and then took they artillery.
  • During charge they had to test morale and they failed.
  • Then it was play on time, as catapult managed to hit my cannon eliminating crew.
  • Another nice game – Krzysiek won over me 15:5.
  • I mostly hate civil wars. A game against Krystian Empire was my third and last one.
  • Plan was to outflank Krysian force with heavy cavalry, broke at least two of his knights units and then took artillery.
  • Panic spread after Ungol Horse archers burned from fireball. All plan collapsed in a moment.
  • Knights Panthers tried to continue plan on the left flank.
  • Winged lancers managed to rally and came back.
  • They came back to close and were charged by two units of Empire Knights.
  • Final. Thank you Jan, Paweł,Tomek and any other for organizing great event and for a great atmosphere.
  • On after party in really interesting place I discovered my favourite beer from Kormoran brewery. It was interesting to talk about our hobby but not only.

Summary:
– it was interesting to participate in such large event in so called „death system” – that system in reality never died and Dragon is a proof of it.

– there were many players from Trójmiasto and area, many Warsowians. Not sure about other cities.
– I was the only one from Wrocław – hope that next year more of us will come here.
– it was interesting to talk with many other players, wish to remember all your names next time.
– at the end Paweł organized after party in really interesting place hidden behind modern buildings – it was somekind of inn which survived in the middle of concrete. We talked there with some part of Warsowians mainly about WFB but also about other systems or history.

Sharp Practice: Germans are coming to the village Środa, Sier 4 2021 

Germans and Polish and Russians and Sharp Practice tancreddebeauville 21:52

We played in Bolter.pl in Wrocław, game in Sharp Practice on 50 points per side. I had three units and Kris had two units. Russia against Germany, battle for some bridge, somewhere in Eastern Europe. It was fast game, maybe it was one hour or one and half hour. I had three groups of Line Infantry under 3 lvl leader, Polish Uhlans with lvl 1 leader and Jagers with leader lvl 2. Kris had also three groups of his elite infantry with 4 lvl leader and skirmishers – not sure about level of leader, but all costs were up to 50 points.

  • Russian three groups of infantry marched as first unit to the village. Then Tiff finished first turn.
  • In the middle of village is a bridge.
  • Russian Jager infantry marched to the table.
  • Also uhlans deployed successfully.
  • Germans are coming.
  • Main target is to secure other side of bridge.
  • German skirmishers runned to the bridge.
  • Infantry followed.
  • Germans are coming to the bridge and Russians are reading maps.
  • Comrade, Germans are coming.
  • Germans crossed bridge with infantry on and skirmishers get into the forest, to shoot down Russians.
  • Russians formed into the line and started shooting at skirmishers.
  • Not many scored a hit, but one hit they own leader in head – resulting with losing one level of leadership.
  • Germans formed line and started shooting.
  • Then fixed bayonnets and charged on Russians.
  • Cruel meele combat started – Russians losed five men – wounded or killed, one group broke due loses.
  • Followed by two more groups retreating. Morale of my army went down from eight we started to two.
  • Then, with another group broken, morale went down to 0. Russians fled the field.
  • Retreat!

Summary:
– we played interesting game, with larger groups of soldiers under better leaders.
– I did mistake and focused on shooting on large unit, jet I should activate uhlans and jagers different way – to cross river by fords.
– after first shoots infantry should fix bayonnets and charge like did Kris.
