Today we played in Bolter with Alessandro two games in WFB 7th edition for one thousand points per side. I played Bretonnians and Alessandro played Dwarfs. We spend around two and half hour for those games, knowing rules helps make game faster – plus we had two different armies – one which was moving more and another which was shooting more.
Bretonnians march to war – but at least knights were without power today. After looking on them, I know that maybe some shadows should be added – still I painted them more than 20 years ago.

Maybe in the future I will raise up two more units of men at arms.

Second turn was also moving, when dwarfs were shooting. Organ guns got Misfire and exploded.
My bowmens were effective in 5th edition, then I don’t remember any spectacular actions with them. Today they proved, that in such games they are great infantry.

And now luck was on Dwarfs side – I managed to wound Runesmith in challenge, but hasn’t done any casultaties.

After that turn Knight of the Realm rallied, but the game was over – I guess it was something near Draw with more points for Bretonnians.

KoTR charged Dwarfs as they had too – due one rune. Second time KoTR unit fled from combat and was overruned.

Finally Dwarfs charged Bretonnian archers.

Men at arms won in hand to hand combat with miners and pursued them. The last thing I did was charging organ gun with army standard bearer and wiping them all.
Summary: – it was great to play with Alessandro again and our game was in some way demo for Marco. – today the best units were commoners and the worst were knights – with exception to my army standard bearer. – anyway format of 500 points work best for Border Patrol, 1000 points worked well with no limits – we will increase point number, but still we will play on smaller numbers. – explosion of a gun or organ gun hurts in such games, as player is limited with those machines. – I used magic – it was a Lore of Beasts. For all time I played with Lore of Life, but now it’s time to combine some other tactics. – first time I used Icon of Quenneles and I like this item. – it’s always great to talk about hobby which happened today with Alessandro, Kris, Piotrek and first time talk in real with Maciek.
Today we played typical Border Patrol (GW rules) with Alessandro and Krzysztof on 500 points. First game was played beetwen Alessandro Night Goblins vs Krzystof Ogres, second game was played beetwen my Empire and Krzysztof Ogres. I tried to make some scenario, so we agreed that the tower belonged to wizard who perished long time ago. Of course both sides want’s the tower – units 6′ from tower were Immune to Panic.

One of those funniest unit in WFB, along squigg hoppers and snotling pump wagon. Of course it’s also deadly, especially when hitting armoured knights.

Hochland pistoliers managed to take down one of the shooters (he was on last wound, as they wounded themselfs moment before).
Gnoblars charged Knights Panther on the flank and won by one point.
Handgunners welcomed ogres with rain of bullets, but fled in panic after round of combat.
Swordsmen managed to won over one ogre shooter.

The end. I guess it was draw – magic tower still wait’s for someone who will open it.
Summary: – games on small points can be really nice and fast as well. – next time we will play on something more, like one thousand points. Maybe I will write some scenario, still it depends of how many of us will be interested.
Today with Alessandro and Krzysiek we played Border Patrol on 7th edition of WFB. Alessandro played with band of Orcs & Goblins, Krzysiek with always hungry Ogres and I played noble Bretonnians with many common folk. In something up to three hours we played four games. Today games we played in Planszóweczka in Astra. We played with objective – it was taking church or defend it, but during games no one cared.

Chariot managed to kill one ogr with „da shotta”.

Waagh – orc’s moved forward and charged ogres. Behing goblin fanatic started his dance with ball in his hand.
After hand to hand ogres retreat, but rallied.

Ogre standar fled the field with emtpy stomach.

Second game was played beetwen me and Alessandro.
My first round was move forward.
Squires – who want’s to be promoted to a knight? Dirty job before you, those goblins are special ones!
Archers managed to score successful wound on Night Goblin fanatic.
Orc’s successfully charged Knights of the Realm, but knights hold on.
Men at arms joined noble lords in combat. The battle was won by Bretonnians.
Third game, me against Krzysiek.
Just move.
Then charge and the game was over, as main unit was catched and the other paniced. So…
we played fourth game with Krzysiek. Bretonnian archers after several loses left the field.

Summary: – I have cursed rolls for knights armour saves, especially for my enemies. – we will organize it again, maybe in form of small campaign. Need to look on campaigns from 5th edition, maybe we should draw a map – not sure, never played other campaing than those from „Herohammer” era. – 500 points is great amount to start playing WFB. – we used revised rules for Border Patrol done by our friends Remo and Profi. Those rules are in Polish. – thank you Alessandro and Krzysiek for great games.
Today we played with Tomek battle on 1250 points per side, using 7th edition rules. Tomek played Chaos Warriors and I was playing Empire and Kislev force.

First turn belong to Empire – 6 vs 1 on rolling who is first.
This time cannon managed to destroy chariot.
Chaos spawn in it madness moved fastly forward.

Ungols tried to shoot down enemy beasts.
Leaving last living hound was mistake.
Pistoliers did the same on the other flank.
Spawn charged by knights survived first round of hand to hand combat and was joinded by marauders with flails.
Ungols horse archers declared retreat from Chaos knights. One last hound came to Winged lancers, smelling mear.
Knights Panters armour was too much for northmen – jet they were weakend by spell of Nurgle.
Cannon lost all his targets, as all were in combat.
Ungols managed to kill two Chaos Knights.
After killing Chaos hound lancers rolled too low and were charged by both – Chaos chariot (Dragon Ogre model) and Chaos Warriors.
Few turns later boyar leading unit heavily wounded left field on his loyal steed.
Situation on right flank was better than on left.
Pistoliers joined fight.
First Knight Panther losed in this combat.

Summary: – it was our first game and first Tomek’s game after eight years. – we played on smaller points and we agreed to play on at least 2,000 points next time. – it was nice game and final result could be something around draw.
On 7.08.2021 I participated in Dragon – event organized by friends from Gdynia in nearby town Rumia – norther Poland, are of Trójmiasto (Gdynia, Sopot, Gdańsk). We played on 1250 points, with all rules avaible for 6th edition (like Kislev Allied Contingent under 2,000 army lists from White Dwarfs etc.). It was worth to go out from safe zone of Wrocław and spend five and half hour in train to Gdynia – unhapilly there are no personal teleports – I wish one to Moscow and another one for such events 😉 .

Fast cavalry were great target for Wood Elves archers.
Tried to shoot down Wild Riders, without big succes.
Knights Panter held down center.
Hans, hurry up – shoot them with nails.
Crew took a charge, but were were wiped out in hand to hand combat.
Knighs Panthers announced charge, but Wood Elves reaction was to hid in the forest.
As Ungols reaction was to flee, Wild Riders in madness charged flank of Middenheim Knights.
Heavily armored knights managed to broke Wild Riders.
Not great hide out, as threemen saw them. It was end of first game: 12:8 for Jan.

I strongly believed that Panthers will break Dwarfs in combat and then took they artillery.
During charge they had to test morale and they failed.
Then it was play on time, as catapult managed to hit my cannon eliminating crew.
Another nice game – Krzysiek won over me 15:5.
I mostly hate civil wars. A game against Krystian Empire was my third and last one.
Plan was to outflank Krysian force with heavy cavalry, broke at least two of his knights units and then took artillery.
Panic spread after Ungol Horse archers burned from fireball. All plan collapsed in a moment.

Winged lancers managed to rally and came back.
They came back to close and were charged by two units of Empire Knights.

On after party in really interesting place I discovered my favourite beer from Kormoran brewery. It was interesting to talk about our hobby but not only.
Summary: – it was interesting to participate in such large event in so called „death system” – that system in reality never died and Dragon is a proof of it.
– there were many players from Trójmiasto and area, many Warsowians. Not sure about other cities. – I was the only one from Wrocław – hope that next year more of us will come here. – it was interesting to talk with many other players, wish to remember all your names next time. – at the end Paweł organized after party in really interesting place hidden behind modern buildings – it was somekind of inn which survived in the middle of concrete. We talked there with some part of Warsowians mainly about WFB but also about other systems or history. -many thanks for all drivers who really helped me in getting to Rumia and back and go to my hotel after party.
Today I played with Alessandro our first game in WFB 7th edition. It was interesting games with some rules used to make game playable for weaker armies like Beastmens.

Summary: – victory belongs to Alessandro – I losed 1526 points of army and killed 604 points, I guess Dwarfs wone over me by massacre. – interesting play, wants to play again, first tabletop game in English I played (before I played board games in English). – first time meet Long Drong Slayer pirates who were playing as Troll Slayers. Now I think, that we should agree for use of mercenacy regiments and allies, as they can give more live to the Old World. – 2000 points formad need to be tested more with those rules, I got those rules from Davide on FB and translated to English from Italian. Maybe we will add something more and play them – test them.
Several years ago I bought on internet shop two Grail Knights, this weekend one of them joined ranks od my army. Still need to find appropriate decal sheet and create pennant.
There were loses, Agrax Earthshade was over desk, happilly only 1/3 of it.
One more model finished – Bretonnian sorceress Caroline de Aques join ranks of Bretonnia or they allies Empire and Kislev (in time of need). Caroline speak well in Bretonnian and in Imperial Reikspiel. When she was young, her parent’s saw her magical talent. To avoid they daughter to be taken by the Fay Enchantress, they send her to magical school in Middenheim. After years of magical studies Caroline is ready to return to Bretonnia.
I bought this lady on internet shop, she lost her sword before I got her. Book, dispel scroll and bag are from Frostgrave set Wizards I bought with one of my friends year or two ago.
1. Edycja piąta WFB była w pewnym sensie poprawioną edycją czwartą. Podstawowy zestaw zawierający podręcznik główny (Rulebook). księgę bitwy (Battle Book), dwie armie które w tej edycji dostały podręczniki: staroświatową Bretonnię (Bretonnia) i Jaszczuroludzi (Lizardmen) rodem z dusznych dżungli Lustri czy Południowych Ziem oraz linijki, kości, kartonowe budynki: wieżę, domostwo i stajnię. W przypadku Bretonni – byli już w podręczniku do czwartej edycji, ale nie otrzymali własnej księgi armii (Army Book). W piątej edycji Bretonnia przeszła znaczną metamorfozę, z armii która wyposażeniem przypominała w poprzedniej edycji Imperium przekształciła się w armię rycerzy wspieranych przez zbrojnych plebejskiego pochodzenia. Jaszczuroludzi historii nie pamiętam, wcześniej fluff wspominał o Slannach – potężnych istotach wędrujących między wymiarami, którzy w piątej edycji zostali faktycznymi przywódcami armii Jaszczuroludzi. W poprzedniej edycji zestaw podstawowy z podręcznikami zawierał Wysokie Elfy (High Elves) oraz gobliny (Orcs & Goblins).
W piątej edycji wiele armii do końca korzystało z podręczników armijnych z czwartej edycji: – Imperium (The Empire), Krasnoludy (Dwarfs), Leśne Elfy (Wood Elves), Mroczne Elfy (Dark Elves), Chaos Dwarfs (Krasnoludy Chaosu), Skaveny (Skavens), Orki i Gobliny (Orcs & Goblins). W piątej edycji następujące armie otrzymały podręczniki: – Bretonnia, Jaszczuroludzie, Dogs of War (najemnicy, w znacznej części z Tilei, ale nie tylko), Wampiry ( Vampire Counts – księga armii zastąpiła dotychczasową księgę Undead, dodatkowo w WD wyszły Tomb Kings – Królowie Grobowców), Wysokie Elfy (High Elves – otrzymały nowy podręcznik), Czempioni Chaosu i Królestw Chaosu (Champions of Chaos and Realm of Chaos – otrzymali nowy podręcznik w miejsce poprzedniej – Chaos).
Dla pewnych armii była to ostatnia edycja w której miały grywalny podręcznik np. Chaos Dwarfs i Dogs of War.
2. Skoro wspomniałem o Księgach Armii, zostanę przy tym co jest związane z armiami. Wielu z nas zapewne wie, jak wyglądało to w edycji 6, w której był sztywny podział na postacie (Characters) i jednostki (Units) np. lord (np. elektor czy wielki mistrz), lord czarodziej (wizard lord), kapitan (captain), czarodziej (wizard) i oddziały podstawowe (Core), wyjątkowe (Special) i rzadkie (Rare). W edycji piątej nie było czegoś takiego, za to był podział procentowy zwany Selekcją Armii (Army Selection). Dla przykładu użyję selekcji którą posiada armia Imperium: Postacie (Characters) 0-50% – lord (jeden i tylko jeden), bohaterowie (hero), czampioni oddziałów (champion), chorąży armijny (battle standard bearer), ujeżdżone potwory (ridden monsters) i wszyscy czarodzieje (wizards) byli w tej puli. Regimenty (Regiments) 25%+ – każdy oddział w armii był w tej puli. Maszyny bojowe (War Machines) 0-25% – działa, moździerze, czołg parowy i każda inna maszyna. Monsters (potwory) 0-25% – wszystkie potwory bez jeźdźca. Imperium mogło wziąć np. smoka. Sojusznicy (Allies) 0-25% – Bretończycy, Krasnoludy, najemnicy z Tilei, Wysokie Elfy i Leśne Elfy.
Tak więc mając 1000 punktów gracz mógł mieć w armii do 500 punktów postaci, przynajmniej 250 punktów w oddziałach, do 25% w maszynach, o ile nie wystawiał żadnych potworów czy sojuszników.
Oczywiście różne armie miały różne punkty procentowe w Selekcji Armii (np. Bretonnia mogła mieć do 75% postaci w składzie swojej armii).
Pierwszą ważną różnicą jest generał – armia zawsze miała generała z górnej półki i zawsze mógł być tylko jeden (w 6 na większe punkty można mieć np. dwóch wielkich mistrzów z których jeden był generałem), o ile w 6 edycji na tysiąc punktów generałem był bohater czy czarodziej (bo lord był nie dostępny), to w edycji piątej generałem zawsze był lord (u Imperium zwany General of Empire – jego statystyki w 6 edycji odziedziczył Wielki Mistrz). Kolejną różnicą był czempion – w piątej edycji czempion liczy się do puli postaci i może być wyposażony w jeden magiczny przedmiot. Bohater może mieć dwa przedmioty i Lord trzy. Można było mieć tylko jednego chorążego armii, który posiadał statystyki czempiona i mógł wziąć jeden magiczny przedmiot, który mógł być magicznym sztandarem. Było czterech różnych czarodziei – czarodziej (Wizard), czarodziej czempion (Wizard Champion), czarodziej mistrz (Master Wizard) i czarodziej lord (Wizard Lord). Ilość przedmiotów była uzależniona od poziomu – czarodziej mógł mieć jeden przedmiot i czarodziej lord cztery. Czarodziej ostatniego stopnia był też całkiem niezłym wojownikiem względem swojego odpowiednika z następnej edycji.
3. Mogę jasno powiedzieć – Magia kompletnie różniła się między edycją 5 a 6 i kolejnymi. By móc czarować należało nabyć dodatek autorstwa Ricka Priestleya o nazwie „Warhammer – Magic” (ewentualnie grać z kimś, kto owy dodatek posiadał). Książka dostępna była wyłącznie w pudełku z wszystkimi akcesoriami potrzebnymi dla czarodziejów żyjących w świecie Warhammera. W skład dodatku wchodziły karty dla każdego magicznego przedmiotu z księgi magii, efekty czarów, skaveńskie warp tokeny, a przede wszystkim najważniejsze – talie kart czarów (spell decks) oraz karty Wiatrów Magii (Winds of Magic). Następujące talie kart czarów zostały wydane: Magia Bitewna – Battle Magic, Magia zielonych – Waaagh! Magic, Magia Skavenów – Skaven Magic, Wysoka Magia – High Magic, Mroczna Magia – Dark Magic, Magia Nekromancka – Necromantic Magic, Magia Krasnoludów Chaosu – Chaos Dwarf Magic. W samej księdze magii było jeszcze więcej czarów, bo była tam magia Kisleva – Ice Magic, czary ośmiu Imperialnych kolegiów magii i czary trzech złowrogich potęg Chaosu – talie kart Chaos otrzymał później w dodatku Królestwa Chaosu (Realm of Chaos).
Czary były losowane przed grą z talii kart dostępnej dla danego czarodzieja np. czarodziej Wysokich Elfów musiał się zdecydować czy losować czary z talii Magii Bitewnej czy Wysokiej. Kart Wiatrów Magii było 36 sztuk – czym one były? Zniknęły w edycji 6 i już nigdy nie wróciły, zastąpione kośćmi d6. Karty Wiatrów Magii odpowiadały w edycji 5 za magię. Na początku swojej tury magii gracz rzucał 2k6 po czym wyciągał na przemian odpowiednią liczbę kart wiatrów magii – jedna karta dla siebie, jedna dla przeciwnika, jedna karta dla siebie itd. do wybrania z talii odpowiedniej liczby kart.
Faza magii wyglądała następująco: 1. Czar rzucony przez gracza do którego należała faza magii. 2. Przeciwnik próbuje kontrować lub nie czar z kartą wiatru magii Dispel lub np. Dispell Scroll. 3. Rzucający czar może wzmocnić czar. 4. Czar się udaje lub też nie. 5. Wróć do punktu pierwszego.
Następujące karty Wiatrów Magii znajdowały się w talii: 22 karty mocy (Power) do rzucania czarów lub wspierania rozpraszania, 1 Moc Totalna (Total Power) – czar rzucony w ten sposób był nie do zatrzymania, 8 rozproszeń (Dispel), 1 Pojedynek Umysłów (Mental Duel), 1 Zniszczenie Czaru (Destroy Spell) – specjalne rozproszenie mogące także zniszczyć czar, 1 Odbicie (Rebound) – specjalne rozproszenie mogące dać szansę na rzucenie własnego czaru, 1 Wyssanie Magii (Drain Magic) – wyssanie magii i zakończenie fazy magii, 1 Ucieczka (Escape) – czarodziej posiadający tą kartę mógł uciec śmierci w chwili gdy stracił ostatnią ranę.
W kolejnej części postaram się opisać różnice w zasadach między edycją 5 a 6. Moja kariera z WFB zaczęła się właśnie od edycji 5, dzięki artykułowi który ukazał się w Gamblerze w roku 1997′. Po pytaniu na WROhammer odnośnie różnic, postanowiłem przypomnieć sobie edycję w którą grałem w swojej młodości. To już około 24 lata tak WFB jak i trochę dłużej WFRP.

Piąta edycja Rulebook i Battle Book.Podręcznik do Magii.Talie Wiatrów Magii i czarów.
Yesterday night around 20 o’clock I realized that I need to finish some started soldiers for my Empire and Kislev army. I’m really good in starting new projects and leaving them to start another one, which is not good, as I have many almost finished models on my deck.
This time from thinking about it, I started painting pistoliers and they horses. Most of work I did up to the midnight, with some details today morning before starting work.
Four more Hochland pistoliers join single one I painted in past. Now I have valuable unit of Empire noble sons, ready to fight for they elector Adelbrand Ludenhof, for Emperor Karl Franz from Holswig-Shliestein family, in the name of Sigmar!
