Today with Witosław we played a battle on 2,000 of points per side, I played my Russian Baltic fleet and Witosław took his Japanese. Our game took around two hours, the losses were smaller than usually – I losed group of torpedo boats because of my mistake.
When we played a game designer announced new fleet – Royal Navy – some details of it on the bottom 😉 .
Russian fleet composed from top left: Borodino class – ‚Borodino’ and ‚Suworow’, Varyag, Pallada class ‚Aurora’, group of Pernows and Nowik.Japanese fleet composed of several big ships like Mikasa and three groups of torpedo boats and destroyers.Both sides on one photo.Just move and fire from heavy artillery of both Borodinos.Some shell hat ships rudder on Mikasa.Turn one finished.Borodino class – Suworow. Summary: – it was great game in our never ending struggle with Witosław, at the end we counted points and it was 62 to 58 for Japanese – it was a Draw. – one good thing I can say – Royal Navy is on sight and there is incoming project for it on Kickstarter HERE and some words on GM Boardgames on they Facebook HERE. Today we played with Duderson battle on 2,000 per side – I played with Russian Baltic fleet composed of the same fleet I played last time. Duderson played Japan Imperial Navy. Both of us participate in Gods of War: Togo – league 2023 – so our result was send to organizer after game was over.

On the top left is Japanese minefield.Turn two, were Duderson torpedo boats left one more minefield.Somewhere during turn three – one more minefield was set up…… but miner was destroyed by combined fire of Russian fleet – especially Varyag.I losed Pernov class torpedo boats.Got some fire on my admiral flag ship Borodino class „Knyaz Suvorov”.During fire with „Aurora” Japanese ship got several fires. Aurora sunk.Japanese navy heading to opposite part of table.The same was done by Russian Baltic fleet.Ramming by accidents happend several times, including accidents not only with other ships but islands as well.
Summary: – at the end we counted points and it was 44 for Duderson and 56 for me meaning minor victory for my fleet. – another great game, when I was taking care about mines in the water. Thank you Duderson!
Today with Witosław we had game on higher points – 2,000 points per player. I used fleet of two Borodino class battleships, three cruisers – Varyag, Pallada class – Aurora, Novik and one group of torpedo boats. On the other side were Mikasa, three cruisers and three fleets of torpedo boats. We spend good time playing on „Wieczór weteranów” (in en – veteran evening) – day when Bolteris opened longer and all different games are played, today also painting evening was organised.
Somewhere in Pacific Ocean the story begun.
Russian Baltic fleet.Japanese Imperial Navy.Both sides after turn one.Turn two, faster vessels get in contact, one group of Japanese torpedo boats were sunk by Novik and Varyag.One of the torpedos scored hit on Varyag.Another group of torpedo boats was sunk.Heavily damaged Varyag rammed last group of Japanese torpedo boats.Both sides had to sail into opposite corner of the table.Novik turned left to achieve that.Mikasa scored critical hit nad Varyag sunk in a moments.Whole Russian fleet started turning.Japanese did the same. Mikasa was hit several times by Borodino main guns, losed rudder…but her crew managed to repair it.Moment when Aurora also losed control, as her rudder was damaged…… and started circling around island…Going around and around to the end.
Summary: – good game which resulted as Draw – I had 50 points to Witosławs 54. – we agreed to play revenge game in next two weeks.

On last Saturday in Bolter we had event organized by „Torgill” – Maciej Molczyk in system developed by GM Boardgames – company from Wrocław, Poland. They have two great systems I had possibility to own Gods of War: General Lee and Gods of War: Togo.
So it was – I had three great games before I went to my another birthday party, great time spend with several admirals including Torgill with whom I played our first game in Togo ever. So it begun!

Summary: – it was great to play my first tournament in Togo with many great people, wish to play again and one more time I had to do list before event, mines were waiting and did critical job. – thank you Maciej for patience, but this time as I was a little bit late, I had to talk with my great neighbour and go back home for token orders.
Today with Duderson we played in Bolter bigger game on 2,000 points per side, I had Russian fleet composed of Borodino, Varyag, Aurora, Novik, Ushakov and two squads of Buynyi destroyers – two on one base. My oponent has Japanese fleet composed of Mikasa, Niitaka, Izumu, Skikishima, Takachiho and one squad of Hayabusa torpedo boats. We played scenario number one – line battle with exiting on the opposite corner of the table. So it begun with setting our fleets on the table.
I had some plan with such setting of my navy.Admiral Duderson Japanese Imperial navy.Orders placed a way I should use in my next game. Why two orders – look at the end of how it looked on civilian transatlantic – ‚Titanic’.Several warships had chance o ramming my own fleet.Japanese fleet.I tried to hid behind island and then turn right to shoot all guns from right sides.Coming closer to minefield.One of the Buynyi class destroyers group tried to sunk enemy with torpedos. One of them scored hit on Mikasa.I losed them soon, then I losed Novik. One group of destroyers tried to clean minefield, but without success.Aurora moved thru minefield, unfortunately she was hit by mines and exploded.Borodino lost half of it strenght, including all artillery on right side because of some mine exploded.Varyag was hit by mine, but survived till enemy opened fire, sunking it in one successfull salvo.Victory belongs to Japanese mine of our biggest fun of using them in this game.Without many of it’s guns Borodino shared fate of the other warships.Admiral Ushakov still standind, firing salvo after salvo.Finally our Japanese fire focused on brave battleship finally sunking Ushakov.
Summary: – next time I should avoid mines, I tried to clear them, but without success, so I losed Aurora and Novik on minefield, Borodino and Varyag were heavily damaged because of them. – we have plans to play big game again 🙂 . – thank you Duderson for great game. – in case of result, it was achievement on the level of Tsushima for Japanese.
Stopping ship or warship weren’t simple, it was time costing opearation involving many people.
Today we played with Łukasz in Bolter on 1200 points. We used many great terrains I bought from Klaudia – she do a great job in many different scales for different systems. Probably we used too many terrains, but we wanted to see them on the table. So we started – probably my 10th game and Łukasz 2nd, I’m still learning, but at least know rules to the level I can play.

Summary: – this time Russia won against Japanese. – great game with many beautiful terrains, which will be avaible only for Togo in Bolter. – Togo – one of the systems I get in on 2022′ – one of the best systems I meet from GM Boardgames avaible in Bolter – I’m pretty sure English version of rules is coming soon.
Today we played with Marek in Togo, 1200 points per side. This battle was deadly to my Borodino class, as it was sunk first time. It was great game and I know that Borodino is not immortal.
Russian fleet with Varyag class, Borodino class, Pallada class and Novik class.Among Japanese were Mikasa class and two others. Japanese also had minefield.How orders to warships looks like/Borodino move in the middle toward enemies. I believed that it’s good idea to take fire on and wait for help of the other part of my force.Aurora received many hits.Borodino started fire.How Aurora looked after enemy fire.Borodino ammunition exploded, lose was disaster.Japanese fleet moving forward.Russian navy trying to escape, as with lose of Borodino and heavily damaged Aurora it was the best option to avoid enemy fire.Novik and Varyag escaped, Aurora was sunk by enemy. It was big Japanese victory as I losed 35 to 0.
Today I played my fifth battle in Togo, with Witosław we played in Wrocław Bolter – official distributor of GM Boardgames games. Today I was asked – do we play at night? I said ok, whatever it means. Then we read how it works and we started deployment of our fleets – Spanish Armada and Russian Baltic fleet. We played on 1200 points per side and had some observations about night fight.
Dzisiaj zagrałem moją piątą grę w Togo, z Witosławem zagraliśmy we wrocławskim Bolterze – oficjalnym dystrybutorem gier z stajni GM Boardgames. Zostałem zapytany – czy gramy w nocy? Odpowiedziałem – czemu nie, cokolwiek to znaczy. Po tym przeczytaliśmy jak działa walka w nocy i zaczęliśmy rozstawianie naszych flot – Armady królestwa Hiszpanii i Bałtyckiej floty carskiej Rosji. Graliśmy na 1200 punktów na stronę, mieliśmy kilka obserwacji o walce w nocy.
Both fleets deployed for battle. Obie floty rozstawione do bitwy.Novik securing right wing. Nowik zabezpieczający prawe skrzydło.Aurora (Pallada), Borodino & Varyag.Novik found enemies. Nowik odnalazł przeciwników.On left Spanish Armada, on right Russian Baltic fleet. Po lewej Hiszpańska Armada, po prawej Rosyjska flota Bałtycka.Novik received several hits and catch fire. Nowik otrzymał kilka trafień i zaczął się palić.Novik torpedo scored a hit. Torpeda z Nowika trafiła.Several explosions on Novik, only few of her crew survived. Kilka eksplozji na Nowiku, tylko kilku członków jego załogi przeżyło.Aurora turned right and started fire. Aurora skręciła w prawo i otworzyła ogień.Her guns splited fire on two warships. Jej działa podzieliły ogień na dwa okręty.One of them was sunk. Jeden z nich został zatopiony.Varyag fighting artillery duel. Wariag walczący w pojedynku artyleryjskim.Fires on both warships. Pożary na obu okrętach.Varyag sunk after getting many hits. Wariag zatonął po otrzymaniu wielu trafień.Spanish survivors. Ocalałem hiszpańskie okręty.
Summary: – we played nice game, first time my Russia was victorious – 24:7 – big victory. – waiting for some sunking warships, as they could look better on photos in place of nothing.
Podsumowanie: – zagraliśmy fajną grę, pierwszy raz moja Rosja odniosła zwycięstwo – 24:7 – duże zwycięstwo. – czekam na tonące okręty, one mogą wyglądać znacznie lepiej na zdjęciach niż nic.
