It was a curse of that place – villages Badrolls and Worserolls will stay in our memory forever. – thank you to Jędrzej, Kris and Tomek for a great game and to Adam who sat with us on this rainy Sunday in Wrocław. – anyway, I don’t remember when I had so many, so bad rolls in General d’Armee – I wasn’t alone, general Tomas had in critical moments the same rolls as me. Wet black powder, soldier who ate food with poison before battle started, broken cavalry equipment etc. Anyway, next time will be better 🙂 !

We played four hours and we had to finnish game, as one of us had to go far away from place we were playing. Hope next time we will have more hours to play together!

Victory belonged to French today.
With dedication Jędrzejs cuirassiers. To be sure war, war never change according to scences from this short movie.

Today we played our monthly game in General d’Armee – there were only three of us, me, my ally Rafał and Tomek who took opposite side. We had four brigades per side – three infantry brigades and one cavalry, both sides had two batteries of guns attached to infantry batallions.
On sir Thomas side were British along several Germans and Spanish, on the other side were France, Poland and Russia under my and de Rafał leadership. Both sides had to take objectives – one worth two points – which was to control road in the forest in the middle and two smaller – roads next to village chapel and another one next to burned tavern.

Summary: – thank you generals Tomek and Rafał for great game, thank you to Rafał and Bolter.pl for help with models and terrains. – we still learn system, but it’s nice and looks pretty good compared to one I liked, but with my feral rolls I cannot play in it for maybe one last year – this one is pretty good. – we had more than 500 miniatures on battlefield, which is not biggest number we had during our games in Napoleonic games. There will be more this Autumn. – if someone is interested to play with us from time to time – don’t worry to comment here or under post – we are based in Wrocław, Poland. Wrocław is not far away from many Polish cities, it’s also close to Berlin, Dresden, Prague or even Bratislava or Vienna. To be sure, we have great place to play and good pubs close to it 😉 . – the result of a battle was a Draw. – close to us were tournament of Song of Ice and Fire – in Bolter tournaments of a different systems are regular.

French cavalry manged to cross water in the middle – coming in sight of allied infantry.
Summary: – at the end French succesfully secured one bridge, another one was still in hands of Allied troops. I think that we need more time to play such game – we played around four hours. – thank you to Rafał for showing me rulebook for this, after small talk why I losed interest in Black Powder ruleset, which is simple, but few things with really bad rolls can destroy your will to play. Then tests with Kuba and Tomek – that’s it, I’m waiting for second edition of General d’Armee.

Summary: – it was great battle – from initial four players we grow up to six generals around the table. – victory belonged to continentals and cavalry did great job on the left flank.
Today in Bolter.pl, Wrocław, Poland we played struggle beetwen those bad French plus Polish Vistula Legion and Prussia, Russia and one Poland regiment in the service of Tzar Alexander. Our battle was on two flanks and unfortunately flank held by Prussia got too many attacks from French side – they were broken.

Today Bolter celebrated it 5th birthday in current localization on Podwale, Wrocław, Poland. There were many different tables with different systems – like Bolt Action, Black Powder, Gods of War: Robert E. Lee, Star Wars and others. I promised that I will be on Black Powder, but I managed to take some photos from interesting battles in Gods of War and from Star Wars with famous AT-AT taking part in the struggle on Endor. Today I played with comrade Michał as combined Russian&Poles and Spanish brigades, on other side were French of Jędrzej and Germans lead by Damian. It was nice to see that people were observing our struggle.
Jędrzej French arrived.Generals should control bridges and villages at the end of battle.Michał Russians arrived. My Russians arrived.French moving thru forest.Fire!Michał artillery started fire and French batallions.German batallion failed to charge on Russians.Russians took bridge and started volley of fire at incoming French.Enemy reinforcement arrived first, unfortunately it was cavalry brigade on our left wing.Right flank composed of Russians and Spanish.Hand to hand combat.Left flank waiting for support.Broken French batallion retreat from the field of battle.Cavalry fight beetwen French and Polish cavalry loyal to Tzar.Broken Russian batallion…and another one from right flank.Shaken cavalry regiment of Polish uhlans.Charge!Jagers did what I should do at the start – they took village. Many brave cavalry charges.Russian securing bridge.Bridge we wanted to take. When whole flank started to collapse.Run Roberto, run!One Russian batallion of Eastern Oblast try to fight (current and former Poland, Lithuania, Bialorussia). They gone away. Left flank was lost.Game created by Maciej.Gods of War: Robert E. Lee – American Civil war in small scale.Star Wars, battle of Endor with rules from Bolt Action.AT-AT in all it’s glory!
Summary:
thank you Bolters team for great place to meet and play – for all time smart talk, advice, great atmosphere – to Adam, Basiorek, Kuba, Piotrek, Rafał, Wiktoria. You all do a great job!
many great people I meet here and know that there are much more I don’t know.
wish happy birthday, hundred years and better times!
With Michał we failed and that bad French and Germans won battle.
Let’s say – soldiers should stay on the tables. Real soldiers should shake hands, politicians should avoid wars.
Today we played scenario done by „Gargamel” – there were Adam Polish Vistula Legion, Bartosz and Jędrzej French on one side and Kuba Prussians, Tomek British and my Russians on the other side. French were escorting some important guns and others had to prevent them from doing it. On right side of the table were Alpine Mountains were French army was marching.
Adams Polish Vistula Legion.Russians advance to take enemy guns.French column during march. All on one. Single Russian battalion stood they ground.French cavalry ride on the British wing.Russians battalions marched on the left and right with artillery support.French cavalry charged on Russian artillery.Artillerist runned away for they lives. Some hand to hand combat in the middle.I thought it’s the end of my batallion, but…… but it was end of one French unit which turn it tail and fled.
Summary: – nice game, but too many random situations. I think that we need to update some rules. – battle was over after turn 5 and several unlucky charges done by French cavalry.
