Bolt Action: Dawn strike, Soviet Union vs Germany Środa, Czer 15 2022

Today I played on one side with Łukasz playing Soviets, on the other side were Sławek with Germans. With Łukasz our platoons had 2,000 of points and Sławek as defender had 1,500 points – it was test, as usually in reality attackers overhelmed defenders with numbers. The main objectives was to have control over bridge and/or two fords – both fords in points were equal to bridge. In addition Germans could blow up bridge, but no one would earn points for it.

As Soviet military intelligence reported area was full of retreating Germans unit, so assault started in the morning without artillery barrage.

One of our T-34-85 tanks losed track and started burning. It crew well fought with fire, but after all Fubar was achieved.

Brave German defenders runned out from trees and throw some grenades into M3 White Scout Car.

Summary:

– I’m pretty sure that assaulting troops should have more points than defenders.
– it looks like German victory as there were more German troops in area of bridge and fords.

 

Bolt Action: Assault in area of Termoli Środa, Czer 8 2022

Today (06.06.2022) we played 3rd game of Italian campaign – battle of Termoli – town which has port and road to the north and south Italy. It’s part of games played in Bolter and supported by Polish Institute of Remembrance (called shortly IPN – Instutut Pamięci Narodowej).

– spliting table for several zone areas for Order Dices was great idea, we played six turns.

Bolters Birthday, Black Powder, Gods of War: Robert E. Lee and others Sobota, Czer 4 2022

Today Bolter celebrated it 5th birthday in current localization on Podwale, Wrocław, Poland. There were many different tables with different systems – like Bolt Action, Black Powder, Gods of War: Robert E. Lee, Star Wars and others. I promised that I will be on Black Powder, but I managed to take some photos from interesting battles in Gods of War and from Star Wars with famous AT-AT taking part in the struggle on Endor. Today I played with comrade Michał as combined Russian&Poles and Spanish brigades, on other side were French of Jędrzej and Germans lead by Damian. It was nice to see that people were observing our struggle.

Bolt Action: Salerno – Allied landing by air and sea Środa, Czer 1 2022

Today we played second part of campaign on Sicily. It was recreation of combined action of Allies forces in area of Salerno, Italy. American and British troops landed by air and sea in area of Salerno. This campaing we play in Bolter and is supported by Polish Institute of Remembrance,

Institute of Remembrance (IPN).
My borrowed force (thank you Dudzio and General).

Summary:
– thank you all for good game.
– as German side we forgot briefing and losed initiative.
– Allied side won this battle.

 

A journey to Czech Prague – next days Wtorek, Maj 31 2022

I went for WFB games and tournament organized by friends, but not only, as I wanted to see again capital of Czech Republic. I spend whole Friday of 13.05.2022 on walking in Prague, taking photos and tasting local Pilsner in the pub. Travelling to Prague costed me some nerves as I wasn’t able to take all my beloved miniatures with me – some of them were travelling alone. It’s only 5,5h by bus from Wrocław to Prague, I found nice hotel with great breakfasts, close to place we were playing – it was Hotel Sonata booked by Lastminute.com.

A journey to Czech Prague – first day Poniedziałek, Maj 30 2022

On 12.05 I travelled to Prague and spend there few nice days, next time should plan longer trip. On first day I meet Martin and few more new friends or friends known from internet groups. I travelled alone and planned everything myself. It was worth of it.

Bolt Action: Seelow Heights, on road to Berlin Niedziela, Maj 29 2022

This windy Sunday we played with Karol average battle in case of points, as both forces had 1250 points. On one side were brave German Fallschirmjägers (paratroopers) supported by powerful feline – Königstiger – better known as Tiger II. On the other side were advancing Red Army accompanied by famous T-34-85 tank. After ordering some tosts and drink I was ready to start playing. It was great idea to have to include snacks and tosts in hobby shop. We played in Bolter, which has next Saturday birthday event.

Both tanks shoot at each other and both missed.
Red Army took one 8.8 cm gun.

Summary:
– thank you Karol for great game! It was great to see Tiger II on the table.
– main problem of big cats are points, I had 16 Order dices vs Karols 7. In such disproportion one side should be defender (half of units hidden) with some units in reserves.
– I guess I was here for up to five hours, we played maybe 2,5h, then I had some interesting conversations after – thank you Adam, Arek, Karol, Rafał and the others, really great day after playing Witcher 2 until morning.
– we had some points with Adam and Arek about updating few things in Black Powder.
– some talk related to Wendesday landing in Salerno, Italy.

 

Black Powder: A road into the Alpine Mountains Sobota, Maj 28 2022 

Black Powder - Napoleonic Wars and French and Polish and Prussian and Russians and United Kingdom and Warlord Games tancreddebeauville 21:49

Today we played scenario done by „Gargamel” – there were Adam Polish Vistula Legion, Bartosz and Jędrzej French on one side and Kuba Prussians, Tomek British and my Russians on the other side. French were escorting some important guns and others had to prevent them from doing it. On right side of the table were Alpine Mountains were French army was marching.

French cavalry charged on Russian artillery.
Artillerist runned away for they lives.
Some hand to hand combat in the middle.
I thought it’s the end of my batallion, but…
… but it was end of one French unit which turn it tail and fled.

Summary:
– nice game, but too many random situations. I think that we need to update some rules.
– battle was over after turn 5 and several unlucky charges done by French cavalry.

 

Bolt Action: Night fighting near Salerno Piątek, Maj 27 2022

Today we played a part of Italian campaing which took place beetwen small forces of American Rangers and German patrols and crews of batteries covering a bay near the Salerno itself. Scenario was provided by Karol and I took Germans and Olek took forces of USA. We played it as part of bigger campaing we played last Wendesday in Bolter, Wrocław, PL. So it was a night…

Hilly terrain with acht coma acht (famous flak 8,8 cm) AA guns batteries.
On the left Germans patrols, on right USA Rangers.
No one see each other.
Hans, hast du was gehört (Hans, have you heard something)?
Germans do not know that enemies are everywhere.
When first patrol dissapeard, another one came to look for them.
Single Karl stayed wounded till was too late.
Almost Fubar on coming out from bunker.
Morale on two sixes, feels like Fubar.
German officer started giving orders to his squads to save situation.
German medium machine gun tries to take position.

Clearing area from Rangers.
Finally squad from bunker on left moved out, losing leader at the start.
Germans retaken one acht coma acht.
Americans took two of them…
…that will have influence on next game on Wendesday.
A down has come.

Summary:
– interesting game with objectives and many inexperienced units on German side with all veterans on the other side.
– thank you Karol for interesting scenario and Olek for game.
– today my strenght of will had been passed and my Confederates still don’t have cannon.

Bolt Action: Italian campaign – A race to Messina Środa, Maj 25 2022

Today (25.05.2022) we played in Bolter first struggle of campaing on Sicyly – when Allies forces raced up to take Messina. This campaing is supported by Institute of Remembrance (IPN). One table were British against Germans and on the other USA against Germans and Italians. Who would be first in Messina general Bernard Montgomery or general George Patton?
