🇵🇱 Jakiś czas temu, po tym jak Games Workshop „zniszczyło” Stary Świat, stwierdziłem, że nie będę już kupował ich figurek -w końcu na rynku są też inni producenci. Przez kilka lat zaopatrywałem się u nich wyłącznie w farby i podkłady. Ostatecznie jednak, po wielu rozmowach z Marianem z Maniexite, postanowiłem dać im jeszcze jedną szansę i kupić armię Sigmara.

Przekonało mnie przede wszystkim to, że Stary Świat w istocie nadal żyje i ma się dobrze – funkcjonuje przecież w edycjach od I do VIII, a kolejna, czwarta edycja Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay również najpewniej osadzona będzie właśnie w tym uniwersum. I to nie wszystko – seria Warhammer: Total War 1 i 2 czy Warhammer: End Times dzieją się przecież gdzie? Właśnie w klasycznym Starym Świecie.

Tak więc, choć pozornie Games Workshop pogrzebało Stary Świat, w rzeczywistości ten świat nadal istnieje. Równocześnie firma stworzyła nowy system, znany jako Age of Sigmar. Nie wiem jeszcze, czy sama mechanika AoS przypadnie mi do gustu, ale znam ludzi, którzy być może zdołają mnie do niej przekonać. Pozostaje tylko pomalować jeszcze trochę modeli i umówić się na grę.

I tak – GW nadal robi bardzo ładne modele, choć nie jest to już dokładnie to samo, czym grało się dwadzieścia lat temu w V edycję WFB.

🇬🇧 Some time ago, after Games Workshop “destroyed” the Old World, I decided that I would no longer buy their miniatures – after all, there are other manufacturers on the market. For several years I bought from them only paints and primers. In the end, however, after many conversations with Marian from Maniexite, I decided to give them one more chance and buy a Sigmar army.

What convinced me most was the fact that the Old World is actually still alive and doing well – after all, it still exists in editions I through VIII, and the next, fourth edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay will most likely also be set in that very universe. And that is not all – where do Warhammer: Total War 1 and 2, or Warhammer: End Times, take place? Exactly: in the classic Old World.

So although Games Workshop seemingly buried the Old World, in reality that world still exists. At the same time, the company created a new system known as Age of Sigmar. I still do not know whether the AoS mechanics will appeal to me, but I know people who may be able to convince me. All that remains is to paint a few more models and arrange a game.

And yes – GW still makes very nice miniatures, although it is no longer exactly the same as what we used to play twenty years ago in the 5th edition of WFB.

🇵🇱 Pierwszy ukończony przeze mnie pojazd Wojska Polskiego z okresu międzywojennego. Choć był już konstrukcją przestarzałą, jak się okazało całkiem dobrze sprawdził się podczas wojny obronnej 1939 roku. Zbudowano go w niewielkiej serii liczącej około 10 egzemplarzy. Na stronie derela.pl znalazłem informację, że jeden lub dwa wozy wyposażono w megafon dla Policji. Pomalowałem model w kamuflażu obowiązującym do 1936 roku, choć dopiero w trakcie malowania zorientowałem się, że nie jest to schemat używany we wrześniu 1939 roku.

🇬🇧 This is the first Polish Army vehicle from the interwar period that I have completed. Although already obsolete by then, it proved to be quite useful during the defence of Poland in 1939. It was produced in a small series of around 10 vehicles. On the website derela.pl, I found information that one or two of them were fitted with a megaphone for the Polish Police. I painted the model in the camouflage scheme used up to 1936, although only during the painting process did I realise that it was not the pattern used in September 1939.
