Just one more vehicle finished for Bolt Action. Lend Lease Bren Carrier which also served in Red Army – it was one of the mostly produced vehicles of Allied side – around 113,000 were made.

Dzisiaj we wrocławskim klubie Bolter pod czujnym okiem Rafała miałem okazję zagrać grę demo z Adamem w przyjemny, regimentowy system wydawany przez cypryjskie studio Para Bellum Games.

Czym charakteryzuje się Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings – poza rzucającymi się w oczy ładnymi modelami w skali 38 mm jest to w pełni regimentowy system bitewny – oddziały poruszają się w formacjach, na polu bitwy towarzyszą im bohaterowie i potwory. Jednostki posiadają kąt widzenia, dostępne są moce specjalne, a same armie buduje się na udostępnionej przez producenta aplikacji – TUTAJ. Każdy bohater może dowodzić określoną liczbą podlegających mu oddziałów – czterech, na każdy zwykły oddział może przypadać oddział specjalny – w moim przypadku oczywiste były skojarzenia z moim pierwszym i nadal przeze mnie granym Warhammer Fantasy Battle, który też jest grą w której biorą udział regimenty.

Ciężko w pewnych kwestiach wymyślić coś nowego dla starć zwartych w szyku oddziałów, a jednak gra Para Bellum Games jest innym standardem od WFB – w skrócie różni ją przede wszystkim system wkraczania na pole bitwy od jednostek lekkich, przez średnie do ciężkich, inną ciekawą sprawą jest system naprzemiennej aktywacji jednostek – gracz przed rozpoczęciem tury układa talię kart swoich jednostek, po czym aktywuje je w ustawionej i ukrytej przed przeciwnikiem kolejności. Kolejną ciekawostką jest przeciwna do większości gier wartość rzutów – w większości systemów w które grałem lub gram liczy się wysokość rzutu – z wyjątkiem morale gdzie mimo wszystko najniższe rzuty są najlepsze – tutaj im niższy rzut tym lepiej.

Tak w skrócie – po grze demo przeprowadzonej przez Rafała. Gra jest dynamiczna i może przypaść do gustu każdemu fanowi regimentowych gier figurkowych. Chcę zagrać jeszcze jedną grę demo i napisać o wiele głębszy artykuł.

Dzisiejsze starcie City States (Miast Państw) z The W’adrhŭn (Orkowie). Świat Conquesta ma swoją własną, bogatą historię – jak każdy dobry świat fantasy czy to Śródziemie Tolkiena, świat Warhammera 40k czy WFB.

Oddział jeźdźców raprotów przybył na stół pierwszy i w pierwszej turze był sam na polu bitwy.
Po na pole wkroczyła piechota ‚Blooded’.
Ruszyła marszem w stronę ważnego punktu którego kontrolowanie jest liczone co turę.
Hoplici wspierani przez minotaura przybyli na polę bitwy.
Obok nich pojawiły się minotaury.
Piechota orków zyskała punkt, dzięki podejściu pod niego – gdyby w pobliżu był przeciwnik punktu ne dostała by żadna strona.
Bohater – Predator na Apex Predatorze wkroczył na pole bitwy.
Falanga nie zdobyła punktu, bo był kontestowany przez raptory – raptory jako lekka jednostka nie mogą zająć punktu, ale mogą przeszkadzać w jego zajęciu.
Gigant wkroczył na pole bitwy.
Szarża raptorów i parę tur walki z falangą hoplitów, bój o punkt.
Karty aktywacji jednostek – co turę układa się je w stosie kart, po czym z przeciwnikiem obaj gracz rzucają na inicjatywę.
Po aktywacji jednostki dociąga się kartę akcji – po dociągnięciu trzeciej trzeba wykonać akcję specjalną, o ile nie spali się wcześniej którejś z kart.
Krwawa potyczka, w której orki zostały obiadem.
Niewiele później minotaury podzieliły los orków.
Starcie tytanów.
Raptory nareszcie…
… pożarły hoplitów, ale dołączony bohater zadał ginąc wiele ran, ubijając wiele z nich.
Ostatnie raptory zwróciły się w stronę walki swojego wodza z gigantem ciskając oszczepami.
Bohaterska szarża szefowej raptorów uniemożliwiła zajęcie punktu i wyeliminowała ledwo stojącego na nogach giganta.
Świetne modele – wszystkie pomalowane przez Rafała z Bonapartist Studio.
Krzyś – uwielbiam ten model 😉 .

Podsumowanie:
– bardzo przyjemny system regimentowy, z ciekawym systemem aktywacji – godny polecenia dla wielbicieli tego typu gier.
– wiem, że ten artykuł nie wyczerpuje systemu w pełni – w przyszłości postaram się dodać artykuł uzupełniający.
– dziękuję Rafale za demo i Adamie za grę.

 

Bolt Action: Flames of War in Oleśnica Niedziela, Paźdź 15 2023

Yesterday on tournament in Flames of War in Oleśnica also Bolt Action happend – with team composed of Daniel, Łukasz, Maxim and me we did historical recreation of battle which happend in Finland during 1944′ – fight for Portinhoikka-crossroads, part of battle of Tali-Ihantala.

Event was related to smaller in scale brother of Bolt Action – Flames of War – championship of Poland. We were there with Bolt Action, Conquest and Gods of War: Togo – system of my friend.

Finnish troops realized that something is on the road.
Keep control over crossroad was main task for Finnish soldiers.
Russian scouts going in a column.
Daniel idea was great and we tried to recreate historical struggle on one board 48 on 72
Finnish flak 2 cm.
All Finnish troops started as hidden.
Part of our company, Maxim, Łukasz and Kamil.
A lot of most popular Russian T-34-85.
Finnish T-34 hidden and in ambush.
Sturmi named Lea – officialy survived war and is in Finnish museum.
Russian tanks in mass advance to take crossroads.
T-70 meet ambush but survived shoot from Finnish T-34.
Let it burn!
IS-2 – tank painted many years ago with tactical number for famous IS-2 from Festung Breslau.
Flamethrower team tried to stop T-34-85 – without success.
Two panzerfausts stopped a tank.
In hard situations desperate moves were done – Finnish Opel Blitz delivered troops to first line of fire.
After several hours we were still alive – me was all around.
Finally, reinforcements from flanks appeard.
With molotovs in hands Finnish soldiers attempts to disable Russian T-34-85.
Then run away.
More Russian tanks advance.
Bitter fight for crossroads.

A Saturday trip to Oleśnica Sobota, Paźdź 14 2023 

Armia Czerwona and Bolt Action and Finlandia and Warlord Games tancreddebeauville 23:48

Today with company of friends I was in Oleśnica, Lower Silesia, Poland. The main reason to go was to give a show in Bolt Action during Polish Championship in Flames of War – tabletop miniature game related to second world war. Both systems are related to that period of time – Bolt Action is generally created for smaller games on platoon level and Flames of War is related to company/batalion level.

We were there invited by our friend from Bolter – thank you Rafał! You have my sword, sabre or tanks in next events. I wish to be there again!

Summary:
– thanks to Rafał– who invited us, to Adam – organiser of this event, to Wiki for small talk and to our car company – Daniel, Łukasz and Maxim, to Oleśnica Castle crew for being there! First time I was in the castle and love this place! Hope to be there again – maybe with WFB.
– last time I was in Oleśnica few years ago, to be a company for my friend when he need someone to talk and then my brother and neighbours joined us, nothing changed, I love Oleśnica and still don’t know this city well.
– I took 265 photos, some of them were deleted, as I’m not great photographer – without light I’m losed in twilight, jet there are around more than 100 of them, which I will publish – some of them are related to popular system in Wrocław – Conquest, several are related to Flames of War and most of them are related to Bolt Action – 1944′ struggle beetwen Finnland and Soviet Russia.

 

General d’Armee: Enemies like from Austerlitz Poniedziałek, Paźdź 9 2023

On Autumn Sunday (08.10.2023) in Wrocław gaming club Bolter we played our monthly weekend game in General d’Armee. There were a lot of us, as I don’t remember when last time we played game with seven people. Today we had game three on three and one of us was Game Master – thank you Goldfish! One one side were coalition of Austrians lead by generals Piotr and Rafał and Russians lead by me as general Winter, on the other side were French lead by Jędrzej and Damian and Wittemberg lead by Kris.

The clash began at dawn.
Russian battery deployed on the field, to cover center and right flank.
Next to them position was taken by Austrian artillery of Rafał.
Piotr’s Austrians on left flank.
In the center French columns lead by Damian advanced toward Russian positions.
Shrine and crossroad were one of the objectives we fought for.
Supply wagon was another objective.
French and Wittember cavalry lead by Kris.
Five ADC’s achieved.
Russian infantry advances in the center.
Brave maneuver on right flank done by Austrians secured village.
Wittemberg on the left flank of French coalition.
More French arrived on the field of battle.

Everything so close, both sides attempts to use skirmishers to distract enemy.

A lot of action in the center.
Russian batallion charged on bayonnets and took the ground, a lot of Chaos everywhere.
French unit in skirmish moved into the forest.
Allied cavalry spread more Chaos in French ranks.
Brave charge of Austrian hussars on the right flank pushed French cavalry back.
Another charge of Austrian cavalry on the left flank.

Summary:
– thank you all for great game on Sunday evening – finally our GM also took command of Austrian left by Piotr.
– victory belonged to French side, but one or two more turns we doesn’t had final result could be totally different.

General d’Armee: Assault of German states Środa, Paźdź 4 2023

On last Friday (29.09.2023) in Bolter, Wrocław we played two on two game on 2,500 points per side – on one side were German states alliance of Prussia (Kuba) and Württemberg (Kris) – on the other were Austria (Rafał) and Russia (me).

Last month we started to playing more often in General d’Armee as one game per month during weekend is not enough and it’s harder to become familiar with rules when you play once per month only.

„Bayonnets fixed!” – Austrians charged on left flank…
while they cavalry maneuver to outflank Prussians brigades.
Heavy fighting beetwen uhlans and cuirrasiers.
Prussians got loses and fall back after heavy fighting with Austrians.
Outnumbered and with a lot of casultaties Russian batallion held village against whole Württembergs brigade.
Cossacks retreated after fight with remnants of cuirrasier unit.

Summary:
– finally German states won, after initial successes on our left flank – Prussians finally rallied and pushed back Austrians, on the right flank Württemberg marched forward and my Russians weren’t able to do anything other than trying to hold them. German states took most of the objectives and broke all of our brigades at the end of the game.

Bolt Action: Mandżuria/Manchuria PL/EN Sobota, Wrz 23 2023

W piątek 22.09.2023 we wrocławskim klubie Bolter rozegraliśmy z Witosławem grę przypominajkę zasad – zagraliśmy na wczesną wojnę, zapewne jeszcze jedna, może dwie gry i Witosław przypomni sobie grę. Po dzisiejszej grze na pewno jest już w stanie grać z każdym, kto gra w Bolt Action. Tak, graliśmy na selektory na wczesny okres wojny – mniej popularny okres, a jednak zawiera np. wojnę obronną 1939′, Wojnę Zimową, incydent w Mandżuri, wojnę Chińsko-Japońską, inwazję Niemiec na Norwegię, kraje Beneluxu czy Francję, inwazję na Jugosławię czy Grecję i także Barbarossę.

Zagraliśmy bój spotkaniowy, zaczęło się o świcie z ograniczonym widzeniem.

Last Friday 22.09.2023 in Wrocław’s club Bolter we played with Witosław our first game in Bolt Action ever, as Witosław forgot rules and we had to fix that – we played on early war – probably one or two more games and Witosław will know this game well again. After this game I’m pretty sure that Witek is able to play with everyone who knows Bolt Action rules. Yep, we played on early war selectors – less popular period of time – but it has defend of Poland 1939′, Winter War, incident in Manchuria, Chinese-Japanese war, German invasion on Norway, Benelux countries or France, invasion on Jugoslavia or Greece and Barbarossa as well.

We played meeting engangement, it started at dawn with limited vision.

– zwycięstwo Japonii 5:3 dla Witosława/victory of Japan Imperial Army 5:3 for Witosław.

General d’Armee: A Bridge Too Far Sobota, Wrz 16 2023

On Friday evening (15.09.2023) we managed to play one more bigger game a month, than usually we are playing for last two years. So now we have plans to play one or two more games a month, than only one we played on weekends.

So we managed to played a battle beetwen armies worth 2,500 points per side – on one side was Kris with German state – Württemberg and Napoleonic French, on the other side were allied force of Austrians lead Rafał, Prussians lead by Mr. Goldfish and Russians lead by me.

We played our game as always in Bolter, great place in Wrocław, Poland. If you are interested in playing with us – you can find us on Bolter Club page or on Wrocławscy Bonapartyści.

My Russian force at now is composed of Western Oblast infantry brigade, Polish Uhlans, Cossacks, artillery and officers composed of Russians. Want to paint Moscow Grenadiers, Dragons from Sankt Petersburg and then maybe something from Psków or Smoleńsk plus one more unit of uhlans – Wohlynian regiment.
Mr. Goldfish Prussians fougt well in the forest.
The main task for allied forces were to take and hold bridges.

… goes out of control, Austrian infantry brigade losed nerves from one charge and left the field.
Then opposite
Russian artillery attempts to support advancing Russian infantry.
Austrian cavalry lead countercharge against napoleonic forces.
When Austrian get into combat with French and they ally…
Polish Uhland and Don Cossacs in the service of Tsar charged on Württemberg battery and destroyed it.
Several units broken left the field. Brave Prussians rushed to support collapsing left flank of Allied forces.
Austrian hussars on the rear of French elite cavalry.
Cossacs, Poles and Russians are coming in the name of greatest leader Tzar of Russia.
Fighting to the bitter end Austrian cavalry do not give up.
Russian Jagers engage with Württemberg infantry based in the farmstead.
Polish uhlans lead the way!
With incoming French units Allied left flank finally was broken in a moments.
Too much alcohol or … glue said go down.
After the messenger reported the defeat on the left wing, the Russian commander decided to send back several battalions.
Prussians valiantly defending what was left from left flank.
Follow me, boys!
My Russians stand alone this time to the end.
Uhlans and supporting them cossacs did retreat move.

Summary:
– I spend good time, have some ideas for our next games.

Bolt Action: Critical Hit – Hold until relieved Środa, Wrz 13 2023

In the area close to Stalingrad both sides fought for some important radio installation. Germans were defenders and Soviet were attackers. We played this game as part of Warlord Games campaign – Critical Hit, our game was fought in local club Bolter in Wrocław, PL.

Red Army veterans advance on the right flank.
Sniper covers area with covering fire.
T-34 arrived on the field.
Soviet infantry supported by two anti-tank rifles.
Germans pionieers wiped out with flamethrower Soviet scouts hidding behind fence.
Red Army soldiers assaulted on bayonnets, wiping out German defending unit.
Pionieers charged on Red Army regulars with lmg and were wiped out.
Panzer advancing toward the camp center.
Soviet officer in the middle trying to take communication installation.
Pinned BA-10 crew instead of advance forward did reverse move.
Ivan let’s fire one more bullet!
Laying down was some kind of solution for Russian infantry against Panzer IV fire.
Down comrades, Panzer is coming!
German medics almost killed assaulting unit of Russian veterans.
T-34 just took track of Panzer IV which crew evacuated under fire. The battle was over, communication installation in Red Army hands.

Summary:
– this day belonged to the Red Army which managed to secure objective.
– Order Dices got by Germans: 3, got by Soviets: 9.
– fast, nice game with lot of action to the end. With Maciek we played seven turns during time two hours.
– if the game ended on turn six, the German side would be the winner.

 

Bolt Action: Critical Hit – Capture a pilot Wtorek, Wrz 12 2023

On last Friday (08.09) we played one more mission related to Warlord Games campaign Critical Hit – this time I played against Karol’s Germans in scenario related to capture object in the middle of the table – this ‚object’ was this time German officer.

Both sides attempts to take officer alive.
One of first Soviet units which arrived was BA-10.
Still Germans were faster and catched they own officer.
Red Army soldiers arrived late and few units weren’t able to came to the game board.

Soviet infantry charged on German sniper team and this won combat.
Branderburgers on left.
Assault Engineers tried to burn Puma twice, but weren’t able to hit first time 3 and second on 2.
Sniper tried to kill escort of German officer from the plane, but without success.
BA-10 almost wiped out German squad.

Summary:
– victory belongs to Karol which took officer from crashed plane and escorted him back to his own lines.
– in case of Order Dices we had heavy fighting around crossroads, Karol got more dices than me, at least two of my units, including veterans scouts weren’t able to join fight.
