🇬🇧 Today I finished a repainted model of a Red Army soldier carrying a banner — of course, he couldn’t forget his beloved PPSh.

🇬🇧 On Monday evening, I managed to paint a Soviet tank desant team — the so-called tankodesantniki. Twelve soldiers, mostly armed with submachine guns — the famous PPSh — and a DP-28 light machine gun. In Bolt Action, such units are rarely seen, but I aimed for versatility so they could also be useful in the Chain of Command system. I still have plenty of Red Army soldier models to paint — and even more to strip so I can repaint them a bit better.

🇵🇱 W poniedziałkowy wieczór udało mi się pomalować drużynę desantu czołgowego Armii Czerwonej, czyli tzw. oddział tankodesantników. Dwunastu żołnierzy uzbrojonych w większości w pistolety maszynowe, czyli słynne pepesze (PPSz) oraz lekki karabin maszynowy DP-28 . W grze Bolt Action raczej rzadko widuje się takie oddziały, ale uniwersalnie celowałem również, by byli użyteczni w system Chain of Command. Przede mną jeszcze sporo modeli żołnierzy Armii Czerwonej do pomalowania i jeszcze więcej do zmycia by pomalować ich trochę lepiej.

🇬🇧 One more heavy machine gun for the Red Army, although I’m considering repainting the white uniforms to a different color, as they won’t quite fit the setting of Festung Breslau. Anyway it’s done.
🇵🇱 Jeden ciężki karabin maszynowy do Armii Czerwonej więcej, chociaż zastanawiam się czy nie przemalować białych kombinezonów na inny kolor, bo do Festung Breslau będą średnio pasowały. Mimo wszystko jest ukończony.

W piątek ‚weteranów‚ 12.07.2024 roku zagraliśmy scenariusz z książki „Ostfront” wydanej przez Warlord Games. Przełamanie pozycji rosyjskiej Armii Czerwonej – przez nacierające Tygrysy to było coś, co zawsze chciałem zagrać. Upamiętniliśmy zmagania zwycięskiej Armii Czerwonej z niemiecką ofensywą pod Kurskiem – „Operacja Cytadela” rozpoczęła się od huku dział wielu kalibrów z obu stron.
Naszą potyczkę w doborowym gronie rozegraliśmy we Wrocławskim klubie Bolter, Armię Czerwoną reprezentowaliśmy razem z Cornholio, po drugiej stronie trafiło się paru graczy jak Maxim, Rafał i Torgil, zmaganiom na stole kibicowało zacne grono w postaci Grześka i Witka. Graliśmy z Cornholio rolę obrońców pierwszej linii obronnej pod Kurskiem, w jednym z miejsce w którym Niemcy próbowali przełamać tą linię.

On ‚Veterans‚ Friday, July 12, 2024, we played a scenario from the book „Ostfront„ published by Warlord Games. Breaking the position of the Russian Red Army by the attacking Tigers was something I always wanted to play. We commemorated the struggles of the victorious Red Army with the German offensive near Kursk – „Operation Citadel” began with the roar of guns of many calibers from both sides.
We played our match in a select group in the Bolter club in Wrocław, we represented the Red Army together with Cornholio, on the other side there were a few players such as Maxim, Rafał and Torgil, the competition on the table was supported by a distinguished group in the form of Grzesiek and Witek. Cornholio and I played the role of defenders of the first defensive line near Kursk, one of the places where the Germans tried to break through this line.

Posumowanie:
– mieliśmy jako Armia Czerwona nieco ponad 2k wobec 4k+ Niemców, nie daliśmy rady, ale bardzo dobrze się bawiliśmy!
– nie było wśród nas graczy którzy przesadzają z rozpiskami – rozpiski były dość umowne!
– z Cornholio przegraliśmy walkę o pierwszą linię, witamy na kolejnych dwóch 😉 .
– Armia Czerwona na szczęścię tą wielką bitwę wygrała!
Summary:
– we had as Red Army just over 2k against 4k+ of Germans, we couldn’t handle it, but we had a lot of fun!
– there were no players among us who exaggerated with the schedules – the schedules were quite conventional!
– We lost the fight for the first line with Cornholio, welcome to the next two 😉 .
– Fortunately, the Red Army won this great battle!

W czwartek 4 lipca 2024 roku stoczyliśmy z Cornholio hipotetyczne starcie w pobliżu niemieckiego ośrodka broni pancernej – Kummersdorf. Miejscowość oddalona o 25 kilometrów od Berlina była ośrodkiem broni pancernej niemieckiej III Rzeszy. Po stronie obrońców stanęli niemieccy spadochroniarze, niedobitki panzerwaffe oraz jeden z dwóch prototypów Panzerkampfwagen Maus. Siły obrońców liczyły około 1500 punktów, atakujących około 3000 punktów.
Nasze starcie rozegraliśmy we Wrocławskim klubie Bolter.
On Thursday, July 4, 2024, Cornholio and I fought a hypothetical battle near the German armored weapons center – Kummersdorf. The town, 25 kilometers away from Berlin, was the center of armored weapons of the German Third Reich. On the side of the defenders stood German paratroopers, remnants of the Panzerwaffe and one of the two Panzerpkamfwagen Maus prototypes. The defenders’ forces numbered about 1,500 points, and the attackers’ forces had about 3,000 points.
We played our match in the Bolter club in Wrocław.
Podsumowanie:
– świetna rozgrywka przy dużej dysproporcji sił, dzięki Cornholio!
– dlaczego by nie grać na większe punkty i z pojazdami których się nie widuje?
– jedno co jest istotne to dobra zabawa, tu przy większych punktach warto pomyśleć o balansie ilości kości rozkazu obu stron i w przypadku obrońcy – odpowiedniej ilości umocnień.
– w wyniku naszej gry, bohaterska obrona niemieckich spadochroniarzy i żołnierzy wojsk pancernych dała czas do odwrotu w stronę rzeki Elby.

– why not play for higher points and with vehicles you don’t see?
– one thing that is important is good fun, in case of larger points it is worth thinking about the balance of the number of order dice on both sides and, in the case of the defender, the appropriate number of fortifications.
– as a result of our game, the heroic defense of German paratroopers and tank soldiers gave time to retreat towards the Elbe River.

Just one more vehicle finished for Bolt Action. Lend Lease Bren Carrier which also served in Red Army – it was one of the mostly produced vehicles of Allied side – around 113,000 were made.

W piątek 22.09.2023 we wrocławskim klubie Bolter rozegraliśmy z Witosławem grę przypominajkę zasad – zagraliśmy na wczesną wojnę, zapewne jeszcze jedna, może dwie gry i Witosław przypomni sobie grę. Po dzisiejszej grze na pewno jest już w stanie grać z każdym, kto gra w Bolt Action. Tak, graliśmy na selektory na wczesny okres wojny – mniej popularny okres, a jednak zawiera np. wojnę obronną 1939′, Wojnę Zimową, incydent w Mandżuri, wojnę Chińsko-Japońską, inwazję Niemiec na Norwegię, kraje Beneluxu czy Francję, inwazję na Jugosławię czy Grecję i także Barbarossę.
Zagraliśmy bój spotkaniowy, zaczęło się o świcie z ograniczonym widzeniem.
Last Friday 22.09.2023 in Wrocław’s club Bolter we played with Witosław our first game in Bolt Action ever, as Witosław forgot rules and we had to fix that – we played on early war – probably one or two more games and Witosław will know this game well again. After this game I’m pretty sure that Witek is able to play with everyone who knows Bolt Action rules. Yep, we played on early war selectors – less popular period of time – but it has defend of Poland 1939′, Winter War, incident in Manchuria, Chinese-Japanese war, German invasion on Norway, Benelux countries or France, invasion on Jugoslavia or Greece and Barbarossa as well.
We played meeting engangement, it started at dawn with limited vision.

In the area close to Stalingrad both sides fought for some important radio installation. Germans were defenders and Soviet were attackers. We played this game as part of Warlord Games campaign – Critical Hit, our game was fought in local club Bolter in Wrocław, PL.
Summary:
– this day belonged to the Red Army which managed to secure objective.
– Order Dices got by Germans: 3, got by Soviets: 9.
– fast, nice game with lot of action to the end. With Maciek we played seven turns during time two hours.
– if the game ended on turn six, the German side would be the winner.

On last Friday (08.09) we played one more mission related to Warlord Games campaign Critical Hit – this time I played against Karol’s Germans in scenario related to capture object in the middle of the table – this ‚object’ was this time German officer.

Summary:
– victory belongs to Karol which took officer from crashed plane and escorted him back to his own lines.
– in case of Order Dices we had heavy fighting around crossroads, Karol got more dices than me, at least two of my units, including veterans scouts weren’t able to join fight.

Today with Maxim we played scenario number 5 from rulebook – Top secret – we rolled for scenario before our game started. We played on 1,000 points per side, both troops have many veteran units and I guess on both sides were one unit of conscripts.
Somewhere in Hungary during Bagration Operation, close to the end of war, some German plane crashed with some important documents on it board – during fight both sides saw crashing plane and both decided that they should check plane – maybe pilots are alive or maybe there are some important officer? Soviet scouts were close, but German pionieers were even faster. Both sides decided that they want to check what is inside cabin of crashed plane.
Summary:
– as I managed to take documents out from this part of town running away from it with scouts, I managed to be a winner. STAWKA got several interesting documents and maps, great job scouts – orders are waiting for you!
– I used truck as M3 White Scout Car – I forgot to take it. Need to make my box more flexible with units I mostly use.
– playing scenarios make more fun from this game, I think so.
