🇬🇧 Today I finished my first model for Oak & Iron, a game by Firelock Games. It’s a small galleon painted in the colors of the old, proud French navy — one of six ships included in the starter box for the second edition of the system. Buying the starter set in June this year was a bit of a crazy move for a simple reason (which I won’t get into now), but let’s just say the last box was calling to me from the shelves of the Bolter club in Wrocław.

The model was a real pleasure to paint — I followed both guide I found and did some of my own research via Google. Assembly is even easier — just six parts including the base. The ship’s name isn’t historically accurate; although I searched online for something suitable, nothing really fit. So I went with Jeanne d’Arc, the French national heroine and Catholic saint. The remaining ships are already primed — the sooner I finish them, the sooner I can play a game.

🇵🇱 Dzisiaj udało mi się skończyć pierwszy model do Oak&Iron gry firmy Firelock Games. Mały galeon w barwach francuskiej floty starej dobrej Francji – jeden z sześciu okrętów, które znajdują się w podstawce do drugiej edycji tego systemu. Sam zakup podstawki w czerwcu tego roku był odrobinę szalony z prostej przyczyny, ale nie o tym mowa – tak po prostu ostatnie pudełko machało do mnie we wrocławskim klubie Bolter. Model bardzo przyjemny w malowaniu – zresztą wzorowałem się instrukcją, jak również własnym wyszukiwaniem w Google. Składanie jest jeszcze prostsze – mianowicie jest to sześć części, wliczając w nie podstawkę. Nazwa nie jest historyczna, chociaż szukałem czegoś odpowiedniego w internecie, to nic nie pasowało – tak więc padło na francuską bohaterkę narodową świętą kościoła katolickiego Joannę d’Arc. Kolejne okręty czekają w spodkładowane, im szybciej je skończę, tym szybciej zagram jakąś grę.
